About this audiobook

I've loved him for years, but never told him. One drunken kiss changed everything.

Allison Bradley has always known what she wanted.

At thirteen, I decided to be a nurse. That very same year, I fell in love with Ed Cooper. Sure, I was barely a teenager and he was one of my older brother’s buddies from boot camp. I didn’t care. I was in love or lust…or something. He consumed my every waking thought. Sadly, fifteen years later, I’m still infatuated and he sees me as a little sister.

Baker Ed Cooper has a problem.

When she was a teenager, Allison was a sweet nuisance. Now, I want to take a bite of her to see just how sweet. I’m beyond infatuated with her but she’s my best friend’s little sister. Definitely against the bro code. Every time she comes into our shop–which is just about every freaking day–I lust after her. If her brother knew, he would definitely kill me.

One drunken kiss changes everything.

The moment Allison’s mouth hits mine, I know there’s no going back. Just one taste of her turns me into an addict. Even though I know I’m not good enough for her, once I’ve had her in my bed, I know I’m not giving her up.

Warning: This story includes so much sweetness from the strawberry lemonade cupcakes to the sexy giant of a baker you might end up with cavities. There are meddling best friends, an older brother who needs to get his own life, and so much frosting used in inappropriate ways you’ll probably die of embarrassment. Or I will. Maybe not. Listen, just buy the book and get ready for sweet, hot, over the top kind of romance that will leave you craving for more than cupcakes. You’re welcome.

USA Today Bestselling Author...

Schroeder kicks off her “Camos&Cupcakes” series with a story as old as time — the little sister of the hero’s best friend is all grown up, and he can’t stop thinking about her. For her part, she’s always had a crush on him, and now that she’s older, it seems as though she ought to do something about it. The book is a lively and fun treat to read.

Author

Melissa Schroeder

From an early age, USA Today Bestselling author Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book. Since her first published book, Grace Under Pressure, Mel has had over 60 short stories, novellas, and novels published. She has written in genres ranging from historical to contemporary to futuristic and has worked with 8 publishers although she handles most of her publishing herself. She is best known for her Harmless and Santini series. After years of following her military husband around the country and world, Mel happily lives with her family in horse and wine country in Northern Virginia.

Really cute and SPICY. I’m not really a fan of short stories to be honest. I like to get really invested and enjoy growing with the characters. Short stories usually leave me wanting more and feel super rushed through. It was the same with this one, but I did overall like it. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have listened since it was less than 3 hours long, but the next two are longer, which intrigued me. So I’m interested to see this series through.

So fun! The characters were fun and storyline I could relate to one of my own crushes that I only wish would've materialized in this way!

Ed was kind of a creeper and his inner dialogue was questionable.

Please I want more. I love this story. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to it.
The male narrator has a voice like honey, which makes it even steamier. Please write a 2nd book. Just Sunshine and Ginger Jesus Please.

Female narrator was strange. Book was fun but fast paced. Could have slowed it all down a bit.

I enjoyed listening to this story... Its light. What I liked about this the facing of the story.. Though it would be nice to have some conflict in it....

The story line was really good. The book could have been just a little longer. The narrators did an amazing job.

Nope... Couldn't finish this. Not much of a story. Everything happened way too fast. Almost as if the book started halfway in. And the narrators male voice is terrible

Wonderful quick novella. I didn’t care for the female narrator’s male voice.

Best in the series! The longing for each-other from early on, really built up the chemistry and rest of the story. I wish the author had made it longer, but this is one of a few I’ve listened to multiple times. A man who has mad kitchen skills-YES please! Absolute favorite by this author. This is also her best series.

DNF - repetative and no depth to characters or their relationship.

Not always a fan of shorter books, but this one managed to capture the characters and their story well. Off to read the other books by this author

Short and sweet but oh so much fun. Easy breezy, this one is a long time coming but once the ball starts rolling, it’s nothing but love ?. Protective family and friends, sexy guys, good old fashioned boy meets girls. It’ll make you laugh and smile.

It was just okay. Overall, I think it beat a dead horse too much. Page after page of the same crap- we get it - the one person has no idea the other person loves them. No great sexual situations.

It’s cheeseball, as expected. The female narrator kind of ruined the book with her male voice. She made scenes that could have been really cute or erotic into cringy, angry sounding narration. Also, what’s with the lack of contractions in the dialogue? It made everyone sound like Longmire’s Native American friend.

On the corny side. I had a hard time listening during the moments the female did the male voice. She sounded like she was attempting a constipated John Wayne impression. :-/

Oh my God!!! So I have this book in ebook. I mean who doesn’t love Vets and Cupcakes??? Yes please! However these two narrators make this book like a 10 out of 5 stars. They simply make this friends to lovers story pop. Can’t wait to listen to the other books in the series now.

Storyline was cute but the lady narrator maked the male voice sound as if Eddie is shouting crossly at Alison whilst making love.
