Bram Stoker

Abraham Stoker was born near Dublin in 1847. He was virtually bedridden with an unidentified illness until the age of seven. After graduating from Trinity College, he followed his father into a career as a civil servant in Dublin castle, writing journalism and short stories in his spare time. In 1876 he met the actor Henry Irving and two years later became manager of Irving's Lyceum Theatre in London. Through Oscar Wilde's parents, Stoker met his wife Florence Balcombe. He wrote many books of which only Dracula (1897) is widely remembered. He died in 1912.

Una historia impresionante y una narración a la altura de la historia.

Book started off great - Johnathan’s experiences in Transilvania and Lucy’s awful fate were as good introduction into a classic horror as you can hope to get. However, as the plot gets underway there is a certain feeling like the Stoker wanted to finish the book as soon as possible so certain things feel hurried. And I understand that the second part of the novel is set in much smaller time frame, plus there is much more action involved, but that coupled with some very histerical way of describing an overall anxiety felt by the characters left me feeling second hand embarrassment throughout the last couple of paragraphs.

The narrator, however, did a great job and all I have to send his way is praise.
