    From an early age, USA Today Bestselling author Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book. Since her first published book, Grace Under Pressure, Mel has had over 60 short stories, novellas, and novels published. She has written in genres ranging from historical to contemporary to futuristic and has worked with 8 publishers although she handles most of her publishing herself. She is best known for her Harmless and Santini series.       I don’t like the reading pace of this reader. It needs more soul.

      I feel like she changed Daniel's backstory from the other books but still good even tho both mains are hopefully dense. The narrator was a bit robotic at times

      I really liked the book and the series. The first two narrators were wonderful, the last one lacked the emotion of the characters and made it difficult to connect with the characters. Towards the end it got a little better but she is pretty monotone. Overall, it was a great series.

      Overly dramatic to an extreme! The narrator is terrible as well. My goodness! I like so many of these author's books but absolutely not this one.

      End of the series so far, I dont think it was as bad as other reviews make out, the narrator was ok! I was rooting for this couple but Daniel’s constant jealousy had a few red flags for me

      Narrator sucks. I looked her up and she is American and I knew it before I looked her up. There were all these words she just couldn’t pronounce properly “shot”, “ton” and on and on. It kind of ruined the listen for me. Then the story — ended too abruptly for a final installment to a series. Plus they drag the misunderstanding between H and H for too long. He is madly in love and she thinks he doesn’t love her. It goes on and on and on. There is actually a good mystery that they could have made more complex with more close calls. I also guessed the bad guy and I’m really really bad at doing that so that is not a good sign. Finally, the Hero’s super sexist comments never really get resolved and our heroine, who never wants to be owned by a man, really never gets much assurance that the hero understands his sexism. It was okay otherwise:)

      The 1st two books were good all around. This story is also good, but better to read it, as the narrator does a terrible job for Anna, as she sounds too robotic.

      This story was interesting, however the narrorator butchered it. I think I slept through 4 of the chapters because she was so boring and drawn out. Tried too much to have accents and articulate. She annunciated making each character their own voice, but oh so boring anyway. Fortunately the story caught my attention enough to finish the book. I almost didn't because of narroration.
