      3.5/5 stars. Personally, I like a YA trilogy that ends with the teens growing to adulthood. I like seeing them change and I like seeing how those changes affect how they interact with the world. So, basically, I loved this.

      Some of the things that were wrapped up seemed implausible--Stone, for example--but they were wonderful and good for Deuce, so I like them anyway. And, hey, who says Deuce's was the only story in this world?

      I adored the ending. It almost felt that for the epilogue we'd left their world and slipped into Morrow's story.

      This is a great series. A post-apocalyptic world with heroes fighting against overwhelming odds and performing unexpected acts of bravery. I don't want to give anything away.

      I loved the characters, despite (or maybe because of) their flaws. The world Ann Aguirre has built is beautiful, scary and completely believable. The "freaks" (zombie-like creatures) are terrifying. This book brings the series to a satisfying end in a heart pounding adventure that had me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. It has both thrilling and heart breaking moments. I couldn't put the books down, from the first to the last. As soon as I finished book 1 (Enclave), I immediately went to the Kindle store and purchased Outpost and Horde.

      Recommended to:
      Anyone who likes post-apocalyptic or zombie stories. (FYI: sex is hinted at - called "breeding" but only occurs once or twice in a very vague way)

      Finally tackling the last book in the series, I LOVED IT! Every flip of the page, made my heart beat faster and faster!Plot: This is the last book in the series, so if you haven’t made your way through the first two books, go and do it now. So, I loved how this plot divulged right to the action. After staying in Salvation for some time, their time is over. They go looking for help in which turns into this awesome journey and new discoveries. This part gave me major anxiety. I was literally anxious/scared to turn the page cause I had no idea what they were walking into. The plot is amazing, keeping the reader thoroughly entertained with lots of action. The main strength of the story is surprise. Plot twists after plot twists, Horde is beautifully constructed.Love: It makes me so giddy to see these two together!! Every time they got a few peaceful moments to themselves, I just sighed and basked in their playful banter of flirtatious laughter. Heck! I even laughed with them. It’s good to see them smile and not worry if they will make it through one last fight. Their love is infectious and certainly makes the reader grin from ear to ear.Zombies: Zombies are the new black. They are everywhere. And the little surprise that this authors throws is..well…its out-there. The anticipation of what these zombies can do and know, made me shiver to my bones. It’s literally freaky yet weird. This is another element in the story that kept my intrigued.Horde is an successful series brilliant in both characters and plot. It drives the reader with clever surprises and effective plot twists. A unique combination that is rare and exciting, Horde is marvelous!

      The final addition to Aguirre's Razorland trilogy. Deuce, Fade, Tegan, and Stalker, travel to the nearest settlement of Soldier's Pond seeking aid for Salvation. Unfortunately help arrives too late for Salvation. When they return the settlement is under attack and they can do little except wait for survivors. Once back in Soldier's Pond Deuce tries to rally troops to form an army to tackle the growing number of Freaks before it's too late. Her efforts are laughed at but she doesn't give up and travels from settlement to settlement with her old friends and some new ones. Her small army gains a fierce reputation and slowly more people join.The events leading up to the final battle with the freak horde are at times tragic and sad and other times exciting and surprising. Horde was an excellent conclusion to the Razorland series. I enjoyed every page of it. A perfect ending to such an enjoyable series.

      With the Freaks growing smarter, Deuce and her companions must convince all of the settlements to unite and risk everything on a last, desperate battle.An excellent ending to the Enclave trilogy, as well as a stand-alone dystopian thriller. Deuce grows from warrior to leader, and her companions all have satisfying emotional and personal growth as well. The fighting is messy, complex, and brutal enough to satisfy even the most bloodthirsty reader. Another book that the teens at my library can't get enough of.

      Deuce, Fade, Stalker, and Tegan leave Salvation to seek help, but return to find the encampment besieged and many already dead. Those saved move to Soldier's Pond, but must provide service to remain making some unhappy.As Deuce continually tries to warn of the evolution of the Freaks, she faces political opposition that leads her to pursue her own solution which will determine not only the fate of the local area but possibly the survival of humanity.I enjoyed these books and believe the action would appeal to many young people. The tone in this final installment does change a bit. Some of the change is consistent with Deuce's maturation, but a couple parts became a bit didactic. The ending nicely wrapped up many themes but may have been just a smidge too pat and optimistic.

      Horde is the ending of the Razorland trilogy. It is satisfying and it is a good ending. I have to say that the series started lukewarm for me; I was interested but not passionate about it. Elements about Enclave bothered me, which made me ambivalent about continuing. Something about the series made me want to keep going and I am glad that I did. Horde is almost non stop action -- but told from Deuce's inner monologue. Readers familiar with Ann Aguirre's writing know that she tells her stories through inner monologues. In some of her series it works (and in others it does not) -- and it works in this series. It works here because Deuce is a good character and it is not unpleasant to be in her head. I do get tired of the inner monologue though, after awhile. I tend to prefer conversations and action to push the story ahead rather than thoughts and impressions from the main character. But still, it is well done in Horde.This book is satisfying with some interesting developments. There are painful parts to this story; and readers have to say good-bye to some key characters. My one criticism of Horde the solving of problems through a last minute amazing coincidence. There are many just in the nick of times in Horde. One of the just in the nick of time storylines but also a wrap up and resolution of problems earlier in the series was really frustrating to me. I am not going to spoil it for readers but really? (view spoiler) It was just a little heavy handed. But in the end, it is still a very enjoyable story. I was reading it for entertainment and can let these issues go.Aguirre does a great job at writing young love and its evolution in a relationship -- very sweet. I read this book for the characters and the action but was surprised to really enjoy where the romance Deuce was involved in went. I gotta say this is just a really nice story from start to finish. It is satisfying to see the characters change and evolve, difficult issues are finally dealt with in Horde and the ending is told in the manner of old style fantasy books. Instead of reading the Razorland Trilogy I listened. The audio for this book and this series is really well done but it took me a few hours to get used to the narrator while listening to the first book. She is extremely young sounding, but then the protagonist for this series is young. I have had problems with this series but I have also really enjoyed it. Hands down Horde is the best of the series. Storylines are wrapped up and there is good character development. If you have started this trilogy, then it is worth continuing.

      What a great ending to this post-Apocalyptic trilogy! Deuce has found a home and a family in one of the remaining human towns but the muties (Freaks) are gathering together into a horde to attack. Deuce is sent on a mission to try to get help from another human town. She travels with Fade, Stalker, Tegen and some others to try to get help. They return too late to save the town but they do manage to rescue some survivors including Deuce's new family. They take refuge in a town of soldiers where Deuce is determined to take the war to the horde.Deuce, Fade, Tegen and Stalker along with the few volunteers they can gather travel to the other remaining towns to try to recruit an army. They have little success until they change tactics and decide to hold one piece of ground. They gradually begin to build a reputation and gather more followers. They are still vastly outnumbered by the horde though.This book is filled with battles. I liked that they were realistically written and that the heroes suffered privations, were wounded, and had doubts about their choices. I loved the relationship between Fade and Deuce. Despite the fact that he had been tortured and traumatized when he was captured by Freaks, his determination to get over the trauma so that he could be with Deuce and Deuce's determination to help him in any way made a great romance. I loved watching the way the characters grew through the course of this series and was pleased and satisfied that there was a happy ending. Fans of post-Apocalyptic fiction will definitely want to read the whole Razorland trilogy. Readers will enjoy the journey and the characters.

      This series was just so good. I really enjoyed the character development and world building. The way the author wraps the story just makes it that much better than a lot of other books in this genre that I've read lately. Such an awesome series.

      When it comes to the last book in a series, I am usually super disappointed. They are always my least favorite. I can’t believe I can finally say that I’ve found one that I liked. In fact, Horde might actually be my favorite book in the trilogy. I absolutely loved it.Every single thing about this book was perfect. I read it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. I just had to know what would happen next and how it would all end for the characters. I wish I could just gush about everything that happened in Horde, but I don’t want to spoil it for those of you that haven’t read it yet. Which by the way, if you haven’t read this trilogy yet, you really need to. It is amazing and a must read. Seriously, stop reading this and go pick up Enclave.

      Horde was supposed to be the final installment of the Razorland series- well that's not quite true. Through the grapevine, I've heard there's a fourth and final ending coming soon. I'm not too sure, but should something come up, I'll share it in a blog post. Book three showed major improvement, but still lacked the flair I was hoping for. In Horde, Deuce not only continued battling Freaks- she formed her own branch of service! Though there was some semblance of military presence, they weren't good enough. Nobody wanted to fight anymore, even if it meant being overrun by the horde of freaks, now Muties. The fact that men and women wouldn't move until a now 16-year old stepped up to the plate was pathetic and to me, very unreal, even for a dystopian society. That was the worst part of the book, believe it or not. Many other aspects were an improvement. Tegan and Stalker were the best developed characters of the book. Stalker, actually continued his maturity, no longer sniffing behind Deuce for love. He realized he wasn't going to get it and also sought redemption for his previous crimes. He turned into a scout, and performed to the utmost. More than the then men of the many outposts... How can that be? Tegan became, not only a fighter, she became a doctor! Or field nurse... A Medic. It was nice to see them grow and mature, according to their surroundings.

      Outpost is a book were the world has come to an end. scientists accidently made zombie like creatures. The humans notice that the creatures seem to be getting smarter. The creatures start to make weapons and fire and burn down the girls village. This makes her mad. so she decides decides to go around making and army to fight the huge horde of evil monsters at war with the humans. She finds a tribe of monsters that are actually friendly and also seeking to take out the horde. so the tribe her army and people who live underground all fight the horde. Eventually the beat the horde but they loose many people in the fight.I loved this book. I think i liked it so much because I love books where the world itself has basically ended. I also like the fact the the author made it to where some of the creatures are nice and fight for a good cause.So far in this trilogy this book has been my favorite.

      Picking up right where the second book left off, Deuce, Fade, Stalker and Tegan are off on a mission to find help for the beleaguered town of Salvation as thousands of murderous mutants have attacked and are determined to wipe it out. From here the book builds to an epic conclusion that completes Deuce’s story and bring the Razorland Trilogy to a satisfactory end.I have really enjoyed this YA Dystopian trilogy, the author told an interesting, mostly believable story that drew me in. The first book started with basic survival and escape, but by the time of the third book, Horde, the story had evolved into a world survival situation. I believed in the final solution and although most of this book was non-stop action, the fact that a peaceful resolution was worked out made for a realistic and credible ending.Although the trilogy has been dark and violent, in this third book, it was gratifying to see the main characters grow weary of the brutality and fighting. The ending that included both tolerance and understanding was a great way to close the story and at the same time, give the characters a hope for the future.

      A great wrap-up to the trilogy. Everything is explained in a reasonable manner that flows with the story. The characters are all accounted for in some way and loose ends tied up. And the zombie resolution was very unique.

      Couldn't finish this one. Deuces arrogance and incessant chatting in her head about wanting to 'touch' Fade, assuming she knew her friends most inner thoughts and constantly analyzing their good or bad deeds made me want to give her a swift kick. Fade's also a big baby... Maybe he'll man-up in the end, but I didn't care enough to keep reading to find out...

      As with any end to a dystopian trilogy, there is loss in this book. Loss in abundance. People we've grown to know and care about or at least tolerate for their role in the dynamic are lost to us and I felt those losses as deeply as Deuce did. At one particular loss, it took me a bit to get back into the story, I felt the loss that greatly. We also make new friends, find new places and discover new talents in our motley crew of characters. I enjoyed watching Deuce grow into the woman she's become, but also watching Fade recover and rediscover his own strength and watching Stalker see the error of his youth and try to make amends. I thought the ending was believable and I love any book that fast forwards a bit past the end, so that you can see more than just imagine the lives after the drama that was the story. Aguirre did a great job with this series and I really enjoyed it.
