Hunter, come back here, where I can see you, someone could…

    She trails off.

    …take you.

    I wouldn’t be screaming,

    I wouldn't be exhausted,

I wouldn't be spending half of this money

    "Go ahead Hunter,

    Maybe someone will take you."

And so, the moon gleans the rivers skin,

And so, the earth spins 'round yet again,

And so, the leaves are gripped by wind,

And so, I'm moved to write this rhyme,

And so, the stars depart from our sight,

And so, I'm forced to say goodnight.

Every day I grow closer to you

Is a day I wish I wasn’t even near you

And why do I do what I hate what I do

It's almost like I've been split in two

Every time you walk out that door

It makes me feel like I'm letting you go

Every time you leave without saying goodbye

I feel a little piece of me breaking off inside

The city lays silent at daybreak,

Its cold and bitter soul shatters at the sound.

And I hate the birds taking flight -

    The only sign or hope
