    From across the table I watched her purse her lips around the straw of an icy cold Margarita. This was Nadia, an up and coming Spanish lingerie model from Barcelona. The same woman who only days earlier I’d been emailing from the UK.

    She has flawless caramel skin, bright youthful eyes and flowing jet black hair that cascaded down her back and shoulders. How’s your cocktail? She asked in her soft Catalan accent. I smiled and nodded.

    We sat there in silence a few moments savouring the ambience of the small Bayuca she had brought me to.

    I felt the warm Mediterranean breeze brush gently over my face and began to wonder how I’d become this lucky. How the hell did I get to be here sipping cocktails on a balmy Spanish afternoon sat opposite a stunning 23 year old underwear model who days before was a stranger to me? Not only that but I was here at her invitation. She had insisted I come over, paying for my flights and hotel room from her generous expense account.

    Had I been some famous footballer or Rock Star this scene would not look out of place but the truth is I am neither of those things.

    Less than 12 months ago I was an unemployed 20-something crawling from the wreckage of a car crash relationship. It was around the same time that one serendipitous event occurred that would change the course of my life forever. I discovered online dating.
