About this ebook

Prayerlessness is causing men to become impotent in the realm of the spirit. In these end times, there is a war going on in the heavens over your family, church, community, city, nation and the world around you. This booklet was designed for the Christian man. It will challenge, motivate and draw you back on course to your real purpose as a man. I wrote this book to push you out of your comfort zone and into the thick of the battle that began the very moment you confessed Christ Jesus as your Savior. But, you and all men of God are called to effect change and to enforce the will of our Lord.

Introduction

This booklet was designed for the Christian man. It will challenge, motivate and draw you back on course to your real purpose as a man. I wrote this book to push you out of your comfort zone and into the thick of the battle that began the very moment you confessed Christ Jesus as your Savior. In these end times, there is a war going on in the heavens over your family, church, community, city, nation and the world around you. But you and all men of God are called to effect change and to enforce the will of our Lord.

Prayerlessness is causing men to become impotent in the realm of the spirit. The Bible commands us to pray without ceasing. What happens when men fail to do this? Increase in moral decadence, our future leaders growing to manhood without fathers, lack of authority in our homes, children killing each other and, all the other pathologies that plague our society and world. God is calling us to pray and stand our ground, to take the battle to the enemy’s camp and to retrieve everything he has stolen from us. Without continuous prayer, you risk being controlled by Jezebel and Delilah, and, unless you take your proper stand, you succumb.

This book is not designed to teach you how to pray. There are many good books available to serve this purpose. Rather, I wrote this book to motivate you and reinforce your commitment to prayer. It is my prayer that, when you have finished reading it, you will be inspired to pray without ceasing.

Chapter One

AN EPIDEMIC OF PRAYERLESSNESS

Have you heard of the Ebola virus? It causes a deadly type of hemorrhagic fever that, happily, few in the western world have ever encountered. The symptoms of this dreadful and highly contagious disease—fever, chills, headaches, muscle ache, and loss of appetite— begin four to sixteen days after infection. Once the symptoms begin, Ebola can kill its victim in less than seventy-two hours. During those three days, the sufferer experiences vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, sore throat, chest pains and, eventually, he or she begins to hemorrhage from injection sites, the gastrointestinal tract, skin, and other organs. It is a hideous and agonizing death and more than half of those who contract it do not survive. Despite intensive research, the host of the virus is still unknown.

Considering Ebola is terrible, there exists another, viral disease that I have identified in our church communities. It begins in the head and, like the Ebola virus, quickly spreads, attacking and destroying the vital organs that keep the body of Christ functioning. I call this virus PWC (Prayerlessness, Without Ceasing), and it is the direct consequence of failing to keep Jesus’ command that we turn ourselves continuously to God in prayer.

Unlike the Ebola virus, whose host is unknown, PWC has several hosts: busy schedules, indifference and pride, to name a few. It is subtle and attacks from within and from without, weaving a gradual web of deceit around its victim and spreading throughout the body—in this case, the body of Christ.

The complicated weave of this web ensnares its victims and makes it extremely difficult for them to break free once they are caught in its strands. The symptoms are so insidious they almost go undetected. PWC weaves itself into the very fabric of our spiritual community and we are unaware of it although we sense an imbalance in the church, even as we worship faithfully, praise God, support with our finances and testify to our faith. We do everything, in fact, except pray without ceasing. Am I suggesting that we could ever worship God too much? No, I am not. What I am saying is that there is a critical need to correct the balance – and cure this disease - with the kind of prayer that Jesus commanded.

When the enemy attacks, you cannot sing him away. If he is attacking your children, or your emotions, or your finances, you cannot recite Scriptures and expect him to flee. We are steadily losing our critical and only connection to God—prayer and in this case, waging war in prayer. As leaders of the millennium church, we have placed undue emphasis on music, praise, worship, finances and great marketing strategies, but we have ignored prayer. We have taught our men to sing in worship, quote Scriptures, name it and claim it, and
