About this ebook
This is the English translation of Tagore's "Mukut" meaning crown, set in 16th century royal Tripura. The play is all ready for production. The Emperor's sons compete with each other in a contest of archery with an unexplainable outcome. Following that they are sent to battle the Burmese monarch who is their sworn enemy. But treachery shows its ugly face and insanity cuts loose and the outcome of their campaign resembles that of the archery contest in a disturbing way. A great oriental play for low-budget production ...

Reviews for The Crown
1 rating1 review
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A very interesting oriental play for performance. The place is Tripura in Mughal India. So also set in the medieval age. The princes compete in a playful contest of archery and then unitedly in war for honor. But the end is costly to the entire royal family as as you sow so shall you reap.
