8 This book of the law shall be on your lips, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may obey all that is written in it: then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

    Joshua 1

    Bible Verses

    Genesis 22

1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did prove Abraham, and said to him, Abraham. And he said, Here am I. 2 And he said, Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, even Isaac, and go into the land of Moriah. And offer him there for a burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of. 3 And Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. And he clave the wood for the burnt-offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.

4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said to his young men, Abide here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go yonder; and we will worship, and come again to you. 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. And they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father. And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood. But where is the lamb for a burnt-offering? 8 And Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son. So they went both of them together.

9 And they came to the place which God had told him of. And Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11 And the angel of God called to him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham. And he said, Here I am. 12 And he said, Lay not your hand upon the lad, do not do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me. 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt-offering in the stead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of that place. As it is said to this day, In the mount of God it shall be provided. 15 And the angel of God called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, 16 and said, By myself have I sworn, said the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 that in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore. And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies. 18 And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. Because you have obeyed my voice.

    Exodus 19

1 In the third month after the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. 2 And when they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mount. 3 And Moses went up unto God, and God called to him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 4 You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. 5 Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine: 6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.

7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which God commanded him. 8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that God has spoken we will do. And Moses reported the words of the people to God.

    Exodus 34

10 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which you are shall see the work of God; for it is a terrible thing that I do with you. 11 Observe that which I command you this day: behold, I drive out before you the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 12 Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you go, lest it be for a snare in the midst of you: 13 but you shall break down their altars,
