    She could still see him in her mind. He was perched on a stone outcropping, staring into the dark streets below, closely resembling a dark gargoyle. As usual, he wore all black to blend into the night; black jeans, black boots and despite the rain, his usual black sleeveless t-shirt. He wore some sort of jewelry or cuffs around his biceps, wrists and throat. She had never been able to make out any details on the cuffs. She wasn’t sure if they were black, gold or silver; or even if they were leather or metal.

    His hair hung in tight dark ringlets down past his chin and she had always assumed it was black also. With the moon forever behind him, she had never really seen his face, just shadows of dark eyes gazing between dark curls. To be honest, she was fascinated with him, part of her longed to know more about this mysterious man who seemed to be hovering forever outside her window. Her fascination bordered on obsession and to her mortification was even a little lustful. It wasn’t his presence or even his dress that unnerved her; it was the giant, black, feathered wings on his back. But he was different than the others she had seen and she didn’t know how she felt about that.
