Becoming a Great Manager

About this ebook
Here are some lesser known facts about management and how it impacts on our daily lives:-
If we don’t plan our life others will do it for us (the only catch being that others will do it according to their whims & needs not yours). If you do not have a clear agenda for a meeting then everyone will push it in different directions.
All of us have 24 hours in a day (be it the President of the Nation or the guy flipping patties at a local burger joint). Some of us know how to use the hours effectively and some of us have yet to learn.
We cannot do all the work ourselves (i.e. we aren't independent but rather inter-dependent). While it is true that no-one can do it like you there may be people that can actually do it better or faster or instead of you.
We all get judged by the results we deliver (be it business, family or society). The results speak for themselves; if the result is good then it means everyone did their job if the result is bad then often it is the guy in charge that did not do his job.
Goals are personal mile points that you need to define, then find a way to achieve them and then move ahead and implement your plan, it’s as simple as a three step approach.
Enjoy the ride as much as the end results. The sad reality is that sometimes we don’t get to the end result so make sure you enjoy the journey as much as the anticipated result, if you get to enjoy both then it’s a real winner.

Have you ever wanted to live your dream ? I guess everyone has but the reality is that very few people get there, I am one of the few lucky people that get to live their dreams each day. From extensive travelling to international business experience I have had amazing adventures. My business expertise extends from the good old days of computer software selling “vaporware” to water less car wash experimentation, running a public multi-million dollar investment group and guest lecturing at a MBA business school to name a few. I have been unemployed, a telesales person, self-employed, middle management, business owner, business investor and CEO of publicly listed companies.

AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
Have you ever wanted to live your dream?
I guess everyone has but the reality is that very few people get there, I am one of the few lucky people that get to live their dreams each day. From extensive travelling to international business experience I have had amazing adventures. My business expertise extends from the good old days of computer software selling vapourware
to waterless car wash experimentation, running a public multi-million dollar investment group and guest lecturing at a MBA business school to name a few. I have been unemployed, a telesales person, self-employed, middle management, business owner, business investor and CEO of publicly listed companies.
All of this was done with the educational backing I obtained from studying a Human Resource Management Diploma and a Developmental Psychology diploma.
Why am I qualified to write this book you may ask, simply because if I have done it then so can you. Early on in my business life I adopted the well know Nike slogan of Just do it
, it has served me well since then and although it does not define all you need to know, it was a good starting point for me.
Get out there and start living your dream.

Everything you need to know about life taught by a three year old

Rated it
I was reading The Problems of Philosophy by Bertrand Russell, all the philosophical brainstorming that is required to grasp that book left me feeling a bit numb. So I was desperate to read something easier to grasp and good to go along.
This book was it. This is a very quick read, with simple things about how children are better at enjoying life and making friends, expressing emotions than most adults. The author analyses all the things with the eyes of a father, as he learns from his 2 year old son.
Rated it
This book is sweet and short. A little time well spent. Gained back the perspectives of a 3 year Old and a little hard to imply principles.
