About this ebook
“UnconVINCEd: The Unauthorized Story of Why Sting Still Won’t Work for Vince McMahon and the WWE” is a compelling, first of its kind, and completely unauthorized inside look at why one of wrestling's biggest stars - Steve Borden (Sting) - still refuses to work for WWE and Vince McMahon.
International bestselling author Michael Essany probes Borden's storied career, his deep Christian faith, battles with drug and alcohol abuse, his refusal to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and the lingering prospect of Sting headlining one WrestleMania before his looming retirement.
This is the true story of professional wrestling's greatest mystery.

Part 1: The Icon
Steve Borden is a rarity in the world of professional wrestling.
He is known throughout the world as Sting - one of the biggest and most successful names in the history of the business.
The humble grappler from Omaha, Nebraska is, without question, nearly as recognizable as the British rocker and former Police front man who shares his moniker.
He's won 24 championships across multiple national promotions and is a 15-time world heavyweight champion. He's held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship twice, the WCW World Heavyweight Title six times and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship four times.
He is the only wrestler in the history of the business to hold the NWA, WCW and TNA World Titles.
Yet what remains both unique and amazing about the storied accomplishments of the athlete known as Sting is that Steve Borden attained this lofty perch in sports entertainment without having ever worked for the biggest company in wrestling and today's lone power in the business - Vince McMahon's WWE.
For close to three decades, wrestling fans have anticipated Sting's eventual foray into McMahon's territory.
During that time, other once-impossible scenarios played out instead: WWE purchased WCW, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels reconciled, and sports entertainment emerged as a multi-billion-dollar industry that, in many aspects, is more popular - and more widely watched - than some mainstream professional sports.
But through it all, one such eventuality
never panned out. Sting never signed with WWE.
The Birth of an Icon
By the late 1980's, Sting was one of the biggest names in the world of professional wrestling - first on the independent circuit and later in World Championship Wrestling (WCW).
At the zenith of the
