My name is Lola, and I'm a lover of books, having read probably at least give or take a few hundred or so by now... I enjoy not only pulp fiction, but also classics from different cultures and histories from around the world. My favorite authors would have to be going by country. In English, Rowling and Stephen King's works, along with classics like The Odyssey. In Chinese, well other than classics and folklore and mythology, there is Jin Yong with his many martial art fictions. I am also focused on social issues so I hope to incorporate that into my new works.

Introduction
The American military industrial complex is a subject that not only affects Americans but the whole world as well. With the ever increasing national debt, the defense budget within America government should be decreasing. However it is not the case, though there have been cuts, the military haven’t been down sized in any drastic way. The military industrial complex is often viewed from various presidents such as Bush’s wars in the Middle East. However, this is a shallow perspective on what allowed such a complex to manifest so completely into the American psyche. History, culture, nationalism are just some of the broader categories which allowed such a complex to grow. The focus on the military could not only be traced back to when America gained independence from Great Britain, but also in the American constitution, especially with the well cited verse of the second amendment. The American military complex has been fueled not only by the government but within civilian population. This is due to Americans’ lack of exploration and understandings of other countries within the international community. Patriotism is openly displayed on global issues which revolve other countries’ sovereignty.
