    Dedication

I dedicate this book to the young ones I'm raising, which there is hope that this book will pay for some college one day. Thank you to the woman that keeps me surviving every day; the many thankless jobs you do, and allowing me time to spend working on this project. My Parent's and Grandparent's grew me up right, which deserve a good warm thank you; you guys have done everything you could to teach me right. There are too numerous friends and family members from Illinois to Virginia to Florida that deserve a good high five too. To all my friends that I may have worked with; remember no one is perfect, and try to forgive and forget, because life is too short. I tried every day to put smiles on people's faces, whether people thought it was right or wrong. The people that have helped me out of my valleys and tried to teach me something are truly superstars—You know who you are. We must all work together to make this a better world. Thank you to the family of loved ones that support your loved ones in the service. I understand the sacrifices you must take every day. To all those book readers out there, thank you for purchasing this book, I'm certainly not a rich person; I work and earn a paycheck like anyone else. I'm just a small town farm boy that grew up to fight for freedom, and to explore the world. I truly have been blessed. If you could spread the word to your friends, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks!

    Prologue

    YEAR: Unknown

The world is ever changing and from the beginning of this story the reader does not know if this has taken place in the past or will be our future. The land is different from what it is today, but is much like it could have been in the past. The world is wild and seems free with much wilderness covering this realm. There are low populations, which has caused much separation in terms of communication outside of each tribe. There is much going on in the world, but there are a number of things that develop and will never change within this world, whether it is in the present, past or future. It is often thought from all the stories and legends past through the ages, that only a select few have ever been able to have their name remembered through the ages. These are the great warriors that have fought and died for what they have believed in. Most of these were souls guided with the hand of some higher power, and without that, they wouldn't have become what they are today; ...Everlasting. The Higher power may have cast the mustard seed onto the earth to sprout and branch out once again and from it will bring the fruit that this world is missing. This moment is the most critical, because there is only one chance and choice to get it right.

Evil is once again thriving in the world.

    The Estimated Times

The relative time in this world is only referred to as numerical numbers that are different for each hour of each day. The people here would regard each time for how the sun or moon would show in the horizon, which would provide them with the following estimated times. There was never the need to be drastically precise in regards to time.

    0100-0400...AFTER MIDNIGHT...1AM TO 4AM

    0500-0700...TWIGHLIGHT...5AM TO 7AM

    0800-1000...MORNING...8AM TO 10AM

    1100-1300...MIDDLE OF THE DAY...11AM TO 1PM

    1400-1800...AFTERNOON...2PM TO 6PM

    1900-2400...EVENING...7PM TO 12AM

    0030...TIME FOR THE DEAD...1230AM

    CHAPTER 1 The Homeland

A man fights from the day he is born into this world, but a warrior is one that changes the world. Each day there is the chance that there will be a man that will be born with a gift of great power over many. Most people don't realize what gifts they have, and thus do not receive their blessings from them while they struggle trying to find them throughout their lives.

There certainly is a place for each person in this world. Each journey and each stride is taken one step at a time. Each person will need to look at their own lives to see which side they are walking. Most of the populations stand somewhere between the evil and good often experimenting with both. The fact of the matter is; this is often a very costly mistake made by some, because there is no middle ground when each person's heart stops. There is no going back and no second chances. Only we have the second chances now to make the right decisions and to forgive each other's mistakes and do the right thing.

When people try to overthrow a ruler or a government, there will be violence. The next question you may have to ask is this for the greater good?

When the freedoms of the greater population begin to deteriorate, the fight will begin. Whether this fight is in the public or covertly, the evil suppressors will feel the wrath of what is to come. The evil and good things of this world will always be at war, while certain people are selected to lead their will. On the land, in the sea, into the air, there will be no place to hide from the madness while there will be Hell to pay.

    Give em' Hell!

There was a man that was wild and free, who wondered the wasteland with the power of no other. The things that happened in his age will be remembered as others before him.

    His name was...ZiiN.

He was born of a poor mother and father that survived off the land. His father was a large burly man with thick bones. His father's physique would seem to look like a perfect example of survival of the fittest in its perfect form. His home was one that was old and made from his father's hands, all of which was back breaking work. The home was located down in a valley, with grasslands, but surrounded by a large forest that has life thriving in it all around.

His immediate homeland was one that were void of any violence and had streams and forests that were ideal for the nourishment of the future warrior. The land in this country seemed to never end with miles of free open areas and thick forests for him to explore.

The people of this land travel here and there freely and were full of hidden enigmas and marvels. This is a land where people must survive on the work that they have done and not of what others can do for them in terms of payment or bartering. This land was one that was difficult to populate, while many would perish from the continual hardship of trying to survive.

His parents had to raise and kill the animals that fed them throughout the years. The one such animal that was particularly his favorite was white tailed deer. The lean meat of this animal provided perfect nourishment to their bodies. White tailed deer were very difficult to kill, because of their keen senses. When hunting them, they had to get within five paces of them in order to get a successful kill. His parents perfected this skill unlike any other, because they enjoyed the challenge which also fed the family. One successful way his father kept the meat from spoiling was to dry it over a fire which made the meat smoked jerky. This was Ziin's favorite treat, but also fed the family through the winter months. White -Tailed deer had become Ziin's favorite animal to hunt with his father and to learn to respect.

This realm is quite different, where the people partially believe in the legends that are voiced throughout the ages. Some of the stories are evident on the landscape, while showing signs of ancient societies. Some areas seemed to have old stone objects that were foundations of structures. Countless people tell of places and wondrous things that are throughout the world, where the world was quite different. The story begins when Ziin was ten years old.

    0600

It was an early daybreak when Ziin and his father went out to harvest some fare on the cool day of autumn. The leaves were beginning to turn shade and show the brown of yet another year. There is an insignificant stream that nearly dries entirely up during the midsummer months, but it was an area that he treasured to go to and explore as a child. The creek was a good place to travel, because it was void of any vegetation, and the trees huddled over the top of it. This was like some sort of a tunnel to him, and was exciting to walk about inside.

This was something that seemed like another world for a child. In fact, there was this one occasion where he dug in the middle of a dried up creek bed to explore the contents beneath its surface. He found water just a few feet down, and played in the cool water in the middle of summertime as it filled the hole like a spring. This was just a place to play, and he enjoyed playing often while learning new things daily about his surroundings.

Dad...thank you for taking me on this walk this morning. Ziin says to his father as they are walking through the wilderness.

Son,...You don't have to thank me, because I love to spend time with you...Besides, this is pretty fun.

Let's go look around for something to eat. His father points toward the forest.

Ziin was always full of vigor and challenging his father. He would try to outrun his father during hunting trips. He would try to out jump his father on creek ledges. He would try to lift more weight than his father. This all would come naturally to him because of the personality that his parents have helped form ever since his birth.

    1400

On one such occasion, he had found a location over the creek, where there was a steep bluff with a tree that was hung over it after a storm blew it down. He had called upon his parents to show them the location, but when they showed up, he had climbed onto that tree, and told them to watch, and he jumped from a height of nearly thirty feet. His mother nearly passed out, but upon his landing, he rolled and was saved from any injury. He seemed to love to challenge his newly gained skills, as they seemingly increased daily. While being strange, Ziin seemed to invite fearsome acts and the body rush that it gave him, as he found that he thrived in those situations.

Only the special few ever have developed some sort of great athletic ability. Ziin was one of them. There was certainly something special about this boy. This play hard mentality turned into a work hard consciousness. Adults around him would see it as a rowdy aggressiveness, but it was a natural reaction to his environment in which he was raised. His personality was being formed and it was one that demanded results, regardless of his circumstances.

    1600

One afternoon he asked his father,

Why do men of foreign lands carry the sword?

What is there purpose of having them?...It would be hard to kill an animal with such swords. Ziin asking his father.

His father was really wise in not giving a quick answer to the question out loud, but pondered the question. He drew with a twig on the ground while they shared their duck that they had cooked over the fire. They both huddled around the fire, because it warmed them down to the soul. Then his father spoke.

The sword is given to us with power.

This power may be used for good or for evil.

The sword is not of man, but made by influence of god.

Whichever god empowers the sword, will it follow.

    Here, take a look.

Ziin's father uncovered his sword and showed it to him. The sharp edges were the sharpest he has ever comprehended. The knife-edge was the brightest he has ever understood. He said that this sword was empowered by the god of harmony, the god of eternal.

This god is of the living true god. His father said as he was running his hand down the blade.

This land was once great and powerful, but full of evil and is again growing in evil.

All of this I say, will one day be revealed to you.

Under no circumstances let anyone mark your body, other than design.

But Ziin, always remember, act when you know you should act.

Listen to the expressions in your heart.

There is much more in your daily thoughts, than just you thinking about something.

You are being given choices, and must make the right decisions.

People that don't will not ever know the significance of their life.

    Their destiny.

And Ziin, his father said, If you ever get into any misfortune; you walk east until you come upon a highland.

There is a man, by the name of Peter that will help you and show you the way which lives there.

Ziin looked very alarmed at his father, because he never noticed him being so serious to him before when talking to him. He appreciated his father a lot, and the time he spent with his father for the daily teachings he received from him as a boy.

Ziin looked up to his father in a way a young boy should.

    CHAPTER 2 The Tragedy

There are points and experiences in one's life where they do not ever forget, no matter how hard they try to otherwise. This was one in which he would not, and would certainly scar his life forever.

    1400

Hey dad...I'm going to go run around for awhile.

Okay Ziin...but, be careful...Your mother will worry about you. His father responds.

Ziin takes off jogging into and through the overgrown forest.

On normal occasions he would go on afternoon runs to enjoy the scenery and the nature around him. Walking wasn't an option for him, while he always ran or jogged his way around. He was given this ability, so why wouldn't he want to use it daily? The one thing that Ziin for some reason liked to go out into the forest was that he seemed to always see something different every time he entered it. Every tree, and every square inch of the forest was different in its own way. This is why he liked it so much.

We don't know why some people wonder around alone, day dreaming into the scenery around them. This happens to the most of us, but sometimes different creative ideas conspire out of them. Ziin's mind was developing at an alarming rate because of this. There was no stopping it.

For some strange reason, he often felt satisfied, being by himself, and always felt comforted being in the wilderness all alone. The smooth fresh air from the earth beneath his feet was a refreshing moist smell of enjoyment to his nostrils. When the rain would fall upon his head from water drops off of the leaves above him, he would feel the cool water cleanse the dust off his body. There is no smell like damp water soaked bark from large trees in the forest. This is where he certainly felt at home where no one could bother him at all. The smell of cedar or evergreen was particularly his favorite and the smell of it seems to be not only smelt but felt down to his core. When his parents or other people would go inside their structures to avoid the rainfall...Ziin would go outside. Not being afraid of being wet and feeling nature at its fullest was something that only he could feel and brought out his finest qualities. Mother Nature, he felt had great power under his feet even at his age.

    1000

On one such occasion where he was away, Ziin had wondered away from home, and ran across a man in a dirty robe walking with a drooping limp. The limp was scarcely noticed because of the beauty and distraction of the forestry in which they were walking in.

    He asked the man,

    Who are you?

I've never saw you around here before.

This man twisted and he told him that he was Poe. Ziin then noticed that he had something under his wrap, and asked what it was. Poe turned to him and said,

I have this sword to sell to someone that is commendable.

Quickly Ziin said as he turned toward him,

My father would like to buy a sword; he likes swords.

Let me take you to him. Acting somewhat excited.

He will be so surprised with what you have!

    He surely will. Poe replies.

Poe then smiled with a grin that he has never seen before and turned around to follow the boy to his home.

    1100

A little ways down the path they were traveling, Poe starts to ask questions to the boy.

So,...boy, what do you guys do for a living? Poe asks.

We just live out here. Ziin responds.

    We grow food.

    Where's your mom? Poe asked.

    At home. Ziin responded.

    Where's your dad?

In our secret location where we play around. Ziin responds as though he is excited to of met a new friend.

Mom doesn't know where it is!

    I'll take you there!

That sounds wonderful. Poe responds smiling.

The walk back to the house followed a narrow deer trail through the wild overgrown grass. When they had reached the general area around his home, they had found that his father was sleeping on the ground next to a tree.

Poe tells the boy, Please, let's not wake him up.

This was a place away from his wife, that only he and his son really spent time together alone. The
