David Rory O'Neill

What sort of writer am I?Take DH Lawrence's sensuality and sensitivity, mix in a big dollop of John Steinbeck's earthy humour and truth, spice with a dash of Joyce's inventiveness and bawdiness. Sprinkle in a spot of Becket's radical originality. Cook in a slow simmering cauldron over an Irish peat fire given extra heat by the Scots/Irish hard burning coal and dish up in a new bowl of non-conformist Belfast manufacture. That's me. These are big names to live up to but I try.I live in beautiful and splendid isolation over looking the Shannon Valley in County Clare, Ireland. I'm a bit of a cultural orphan - but thanks to the beloved B, I'm very happy in our eclectic art and book filled rural nest.

    Chapter 1. Sighting.

It was how she moved. There was something raw and powerfully sexual that was not any one thing but all of her. Damn it she’s so raw, said Ian under his breath.

Johnny looked up from his writing and peered over the high window-screen into the avenue. His eyes quickly found the subject of Ian’s comment. She was on the far side of the road walking towards the park. At the same time everyday she moved up the avenue disturbing the air around her. Shockwaves pressed on all who saw her, especially the men. Johnny released a low rumbling groan. I’m a married man so I shouldn’t be looking at her. It’s bad for my morale. Ian man, she’s always alone, you should make a move.

Ian’s eyes were following her and he didn’t respond to Johnny’s remark. Ian was lost, his body was surging with that chemical heat that so torture young men. He could feel the swelling down the leg of his jeans, urgent and demanding. Every day for two weeks at twelve-thirty and again at one-thirty, she was there, tormenting Ian with fierce arousal. Look how she moves. It’s like a slow-motion film, like she knows her power and is flaunting it by making us look longer. So teasing, so revealing. That skirt is barely there. I can almost see the crease of her bum. Thighs are so powerful, so thick and yet her legs are long and oh dear, those boots. I’ve always been a sucker for boots. That kinda mini-skirt and boots is old-fashioned now, it's a late sixties early seventies dolly bird look. And the hair, long silky-thick and luxurious. That tight jumper shows off her boobs so well, high and big and round like her ass. She’s a stunner, a real beauty but there is something... she always looks sad or removed somehow. It’s as if she is in a world of her own. That walk, so slow and yet long striding. She moves like a big cat. Yes a big voluptuous panther stalking down the avenue. It’s little wonder we call her ‘the animal.’ What was that Johnny?

Ian, you need to make a move. Why don’t you take your lunch break now and go follow her up to the park. That’s obviously where she goes for lunch every day. Either that or get into the toilet and have a toss before you explode.

Ian flushed and looked down at the obscenely obvious bulge in his jeans. Johnny noticed Ian’s embarrassment. Sorry Ian. It’s too easy to tease you and impossible not to see that monster donkey-dick you spring every lunchtime.

Ian flushed even redder and sat on the high stool with his lower half under the counter-top. He was resisting the urge to flee. At one twenty-five, Ian tried not to stand and look into the avenue but Johnny rose and said, There she is. Punctual as ever. God in heaven it’s not fair. So much woman and so on display. Look, every guy out there is stopping to watch her and some girls are giving her the daggers look. But she sails on with the mighty ass wiggling and not taking them under her notice.

Ian came and stood by Johnny. He watched and almost held his breath, trying not to become aroused. He was fascinated by how she walked. Her black leather boots came to the top of her bulging curved calves. The boots had flat heels and she rose high on her toes with every stride. It gave her walk bounce. Her short pleated kilt danced in
