Sing, Your Way Through Life - Greg Woods
Greg Woods
Director of Music and Therapy, Therapeia (Cornwall) cic
Greg trained at the Royal Military School of Music in 1976 and has spent much of his life living in the music bubble.
In 2008 he started to use his musical skills as a therapist, and quickly found that his music could unlock memories for people with dementia. It soon became apparent that his techniques could also help people with aphasia.
Greg believes that until a cure for dementia is found, we all must do what we can to ease the burden placed on care givers, and of course, people with dementia.
Both Greg and Liz hope that this book will help comfort and guide
A close working relationship between the company that he founded Therapeia Cornwall cic
and Wired cic
has provided a perfect platform on which programmes that benefit both aphasia and dementia can be developed. Greg’s West Country
style and humour are reflected within this book.

Clinical Psychologist Clinical Director for Wired Cornwall CIC
Wired
is a rehabilitation centre for stroke and acquired brain injury patients in Cornwall. I have specialised in brain conditions for the last 12 years, starting off with a road accident project in 2000.
The history of the brain is a very fascination and complex one and whereas we shall never solve all the complexities it is very exciting to be involved with Greg
Our first book Sing, Your way to health
dealt mainly with Aphasia and Melodic Intonation Therapy; we hope that this book our second in the series will offer positive interventions that will allow people to regain self-belief, confidence and the means to create a forward plan with respect to dementia.
Both Greg and I would like to thank Dr Doris Bersing, Dr Ethelle Lord, Mr Peter Gooley, and all of the great artists at openclickart.org and other open source photo and art resources who have contributed, without their support, talents and hard work, our hill would have been much steeper.
The Brain is a very Intricate yet Fragile Organ
Our Brain is personal to us, it determines who we are as individuals, and it stores our memories and produces our thoughts.
It allows us to breathe and controls our heartbeat.
The human brain is made up of more than 100 billion neurons, and has the ability to react to its surroundings in less than two tenths of a second, it is estimated that the brain can store more than three million hours of
