    With college graduation behind her, Mara is ready to begin the next phase of her life as Mrs. James Filmore in the next four days.

    Knowing their nights alone will soon come to an end, she plans a surprise dinner, but she gets surprised when she walks into James' bedroom thinking to turn off a forgotten radio. There in bed are James and her best friend and matron of honor, Karen, so busy getting busy they don't even realize she's in the room, until she can no longer stifle a scream.

    Busted, James attempts to offer the perfunctory apology, but Mara is not having it and the dinner that would have been enjoyed by the two of them ended up decorating French-vanilla carpet with splashes of red and green, ground in by Mara's heels.

    Totally disgusted and frustrated, Mara decides to leave the state and begin a new life alone. Unable to concentrate on preparing for a CPA exam, she chooses to take a bank teller position, temporarily, which leads to much more excitement than she bargained for; especially when Eric Harrison makes a not-so-subtle attempt to rein her in for himself.
