Prologue
The deal had been done long before he had left the room. He had executed his duty and he was proud of the outcome and more importantly his actions would be greatly appreciated by the others. He walked along the corridor to his private chambers as he opened the door he could hear the telephone ringing.
They are ready for you your Honour.
It was his clerk.
I’m on my way out.
He replied in a matter of fact manner.
He checked his image in the chamber mirror, left his private quarters and headed for the court room entrance, he heard the usher knock twice on the court room door to pre warn the court occupants that his entrance was imminent. All rise
the lady usher stated as he promptly moved to his chair and sat down with his usual authority. The issue in his court today was that of commercial mortgage fraud to the value of £125 million. It was a trial listed for 8 weeks and he had returned to the court to oversee the swearing in
of the jury members, Are we ready to proceed with the jury?
he asked of the court clerk
Yes your honour
she replied.
Just before we call into the court room the potential jury members, can you please inform me of any issues that have arisen from the juror questionnaires.
None your Honour
replied Simon Rose QC, chief prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service, as stood almost to his full height. He had sat down before the sound of his sentence had finished echoing around the court room.
Very well. Call them in please.
He was keen to start this one, he had an agenda to adhere on this one, he had a duty to fulfil and he was intent on completing fully his tasks and duties. The usher opened the door and motioned for the potential jury members to enter the court room, there was eighteen in total, whittled down from a possible thirty. As they began to file inside the court he greeted them with short smile and raised his hand almost in a halting motion. Please do not enter the jury box at the moment I will explain why shortly, so if you could all enter and remain at the back of the court until I provide further instruction, thank you.
He stated very curtly. In a few moments the court clerk will use a ballot system to choose twelve of you to act as jury members for this trial, which as you are all aware is due to last 8 weeks and, you have all indicated that you are available and have no foreseeable issues with the length of this trial.
He continued Therefore, we will call your name, once it has been called please take your seat in the jury box and remain seated until you are asked to make your oaths, thank you.
He motioned to the clerk to begin the process.
His mind moved unusually to the meeting that had just ended in his private chambers. There were three attendees including him, he being the most junior in merit and thus in rank, his two seniors were his mentors, his friends, his guides. This was his opportunity for deliverance to true enlightenment and the very thought excited him. His Honour Judge Brandon-Lightwing QC was on the verge of greatness, that only the select few are ever exposed too. The only question was whether he would rise to the challenge speedily enough to impress his peers and superiors. He had dedicated over thirty years of his life in pursuance of this opportunity and he had made many sacrifices and thus had learned the true value of patience, as often he witnessed his superiors growing in stature and merit. But now it was his time his arrival. Reluctantly his attention was forced back to the matter in the courtroom he could hear the first juror making their oath, he observed how plebish
the juror looked with his short crew cut hair style, t-shirt and tattooed arms;
I swear by almighty God that I will faithfully try the defendants and give a true verdict according to the evidence.
The man said confidently. The next juror stood up and began the oath process…his mind struggled to move away from his enlightened mission and in an attempt to focus his mind he momentarily closed his eyes and reopened them.
The court room was packed with legal Counsel, defendants, instructing Solicitors, Police officers, reporters and of course embers of the general public. As the swearing in
process for the jury continued his eyes focused upon the defendants. A motley crew he thought to himself. He considered the audacity of their actions, the ramifications for the legal profession and the financial implications for his superiors. How dare they?
he raged in his own mind, fucking wogs
this was the outcome of years of pandering to the liberals
in the profession who moaned about the lack of colour
in the profession and the limited opportunities that this strata of society were exposed to, see what happens when the misguided allow the coloured fodder to get above their station
his mind proposed to itself. Six non-white
defendants and one white
defendant, at least there was a ray of light
in amongst all that darkness he mused. Three of these wogs were Solicitors (soon to be struck off) the remainder so called businessmen
, Scammers more like
he thought. He entertained a series of violent thoughts that was only ended when he noticed that all the jury members had been sworn in.
He turned his attention toward Simon Rose QC although his words were directed toward the jurors, Thank you, once more for your availability to try these matters, I will now ask you to leave the court until tomorrow morning, unless there any objections from Counsel, when we will formally begin the process of trying these defendants and the Crown will begin by presenting the case against the defendants. Just before you are excused for today I would like to remind you that you are not allowed to discuss this case with anyone outside this courtroom and outside this legal process, to do so will result in severe consequences, so please refrain from conducting any internet based research or social media activity, please rest assured that all the information you require will be presented to you in the courtroom environment. Thank you.
With another short smile he dismissed them until the following day.
With the jury swearing in
process completed the court was free to discuss the legal arguments pertinent to the various defendants. He was hoping this would be completed in the remainder of the day after all he wanted to conclude matters as soon as possible as he had external commitments that outweighed this cases’ significance, he was itching to attend too those responsibilities but he knew the day had the potential to linger as this was a complex legal case with a multitude of legal principles to consider. Mr Rose, I believe there are a number of matters that we have an opportunity to address in this session shall we commence with the ad joinder issue of perverting the course of justice?
it was more of a statement than a question and with that the prosecutor rose to his feet and began his submission.
Alden had left the building the same way he had entered, unnoticed. He enjoyed being non-descripted it meant his movements and work could be executed with minimal interference from sheep
and agencies and NGO’s that, had few or no members of the initiated. He understood his position fully and the level of devotion it demanded, it was this that made him an excellent role model an excellent mentor, he was truly enlightened. He rarely stopped to analyse the tactics he had employed in the pursuance of an objective, if he had, he too would find it fanciful that such courses of action were pursued in the name of deliverance and conviction. He was the most senior at the meeting a position he enjoyed it was necessary to be accompanied by another senior just in case Brandon-Lightwing was confused about the severity of the matter at hand, it was a reinforcement technique that rarely failed at this level.
His mission was simple, protect the interest of the group, he had always successfully delivered and had yet to renege upon his commitments. The world was changing and the sheep
were becoming increasingly bolder, they had access to unprecedented levels of information and, migration of labour meant that new sheep
from other parts of the World were now having impact and influence upon the "civilised
