Kolby & Mary Beth King

God changed their lives… With that being said, Kolby is the children's minister at First Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma, where he and Mary Beth, his wife, minister to 150 elementary students each week. They are also the founders of three-thirty ministries, a resource network for the purpose of providing affordable resources to churches and families around the world. Kolby is a ventriloquist (which basically means he likes to talk to himself) and Mary Beth eats fire as a way of sharing the Gospel. During their years in evangelism and student ministry, they picked up other interesting ministry tools including stunts with six-foot balloons, balloon sculptures, fire-juggling (which one should never do on a windy day!), and a variety of other unique activities for the purpose of sharing Jesus with others. Learn more about events or training conference they can bring to your church or organization at http://www.threethirtyministries.org/kolby-king. "Jesus must become greater; I must become less." John 3:30

This book is dedicated to children who seek to know God and make Him known.

    Introduction

    _______________________

    Our Goal

To help students experience God’s Word in a colorful, fun, surprising and creative manner; to ignite in them a hunger that leads them to dig in, crawl inside, explore, enjoy and live out God’s truth.

    Teaching Method

Children only remember 10% of what they hear, 20% of what they see, and 30% of what they hear and see. They are concrete learners, which means they retain 80 to 90% of what they do, touch, smell, taste, and help teach. Therefore, these lessons are packed with a teaching style that will help them to:

Find it. Taste it. Touch it. Make it.

Know it. Grow it. See it. Show it.

    Live it!

The Choice to Rejoice - Lesson 1

    Paul and Silas in Prison

-Each small group will need about 50 slips of a variety of colored paper that are 8 ½ x 2 inches in size to make Thankful Chains.

    OPENING REVIEW ACTIVITY (Optional):

As students enter direct them to wad up pieces of paper. Tell them to wad these up one sheet at a time.)

After they are finished, SAY: On the count of three, put all the paper wads in the trash bag and sit down. 1...2...3...Go!

ASK: What was your favorite story from the Book of Daniel?

Take out one piece of wadded-up paper.

SAY: You took this paper and you made a mess out of it. Daniel and his friends kept from making a mess out of their lives by keeping away from sin. Sin will always make a mess out of a person’s life. To remind you of this, we’re going to play a game.
