About This Book
This case study complements the book, Going Solar: A Solution Whose Time Has Come. Since the introduction of rooftop photovoltaic (PV) power systems, the solar industry has grown significantly, and technology has changed with it. Efficiencies have improved and the power generated per square foot has increased such that 290 kW and 300 kW panels are common.
To complement the Going Solar reference book, case studies were created to explain and show the complete process from concept through installation and first power up for three different actual projects—5.0 kW, 6.5 kW, and 7.4 kW. You’re holding the case study for a 7.4 kW solar power generator.
This case study describes a homeowner’s experience in researching, buying, installing and operating a residential solar power generation system for a 3100 square foot home.
