It is getting serious between Brock and Portia. They are on the phase of confessing their feelings for each other and it has become a bit hard to “not” be together twenty-four hours a day. They are, indeed, in love.

If only Brock can find out who the stalker is so they can get rid of the threat at last. But it seems this is part of the hurdle before Portia can finally move on, and with Brock helping her, she might as well be putting him on the path of peril.

The stalker is getting into her skin, and its machinations have become too dangerous to ignore. What are they to do when it gets a shot at truly hurting Portia before Brock can do anything to stop it?

“You’re lucky all they did was to leave those photos.” Brock shook his head and gave her a chagrined look. “I should never have left you out of my sight.”

“Don’t say that.” Portia moved closer to him again, slipping her arms around his waist. “I’m lucky to have you in my life right now. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have protecting me.”

“You’ve come to mean a great deal to me.” He kissed the top of her head and squeezed her tight. “I’m so happy we ran into each other again. I used to be so in love with you back in college.”

“I know you were,” she said, smiling. “I think I loved you, too, but it was all so confusing back then. When I met Gideon, I had to make a choice, and although I don’t regret that decision, I always wished I hadn’t had to lose you as a friend as well.”

Brock lifted her chin and leaned down to kiss her on the lips. He broke away after a moment and said “We’ve found each other now, and that’s all that counts,” before kissing her again....

Über den Autor

The moment Sandra Ross held her first romance novel when she was ten, she knew she was going to write romance. At thirty now, a prolific reader and a freelance writer, she's since then expanded her preferences from just romance to romance with a dash of now trending sub-genres—paranormal , fantasy, sci-fi even, and erotica. She loves challenging herself and would write on a dare. On a normal day, she would be found in her herb garden collecting spices for her kitchen or ingredients for her potions; in her huge eclectic Provencal kitchen with the big modern oven cooking pots and pans of food for her family of one husband and three kids (an ardent daughter and two boisterous sons) that'll probably last for weeks; in her library with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and an e-reader in her hands as she reads the latest erotic hit; or scribbling pages upon pages of different erotic lifestyles, searching for the one that feels like it was inspired by just the right mix of passion, story line, and sex. Aside from these activities, the rest of the time she'd be found in front of her laptop typing the latest Sandra Ross concoction for her readers.

Chapter One

PORTIA, I DON'T know what to say. I feel so bad about pressuring you to get out and have a bit of fun all these years. I've I'd known what you were going through I never would have pushed so hard, said Carrie.

They'd met for dinner shortly after work, and Portia had decided that it was best to finally tell her friend the full truth about the accident and the loss of her unborn child. She'd run through the events of the last week while they picked at sushi and gyoza at one of their favorite restaurants.

It's fine, really, replied Portia, laying her hand on her friend's arm. You know what? I appreciate everything you've done for me. It was my choice to keep quiet, and even though I'm not so sure it was the right choice, it was what I needed at the time.

Well, I'm glad you told me now so you don't have to go through this alone. What do you think all this stuff about the emails and the package is?

I wish I had even the slightest clue about who would want to do something so horrible to me. I'm not really sleeping well, and I'm actually starting to be afraid that someone might want to escalate this into physical harm. I feel crazy for saying that, but someone out there wants me to suffer, and they're doing a good job of it.

Portia dropped the husk of an edamame bean onto her plate and picked up her green tea. She sipped carefully
