About this ebook

While attending Tremont High School, Theresa Mallory is attacked by a fellow student- a bad girl named Lola with a rusty box cutter. Caught off guard, Theresa was slashed in the face with it. As blood gushed from her wounds, none of the bystanders did a thing to stop Lola, until Tina Pettiiford appeared and halted the attack.

The wounds left Theresa mentally scarred and disfigured. Only Tina seemed to be un-phased by Theresa’s face, so the two became best friends. Each bore her own scars. As a result of Tina being jockeyed from one foster home to another, her adult life remained unstable as she jumped from one bad relationship to another. On the other hand, after spending a great deal of time in her own created wonderland to recuperate, life improved for Theresa. Over time, she was able to return to the real world, where she attended college, met Joe, then married and started a family with him.

Well into their forties, no one understood Theresa’s unending loyalty to Tina, and Theresa didn’t care. Tina saved her life and did what no one else would, so she would be a good friend and come to her rescue whenever she needed her to! Unfortunately, it never occurred to Theresa that their friendship wasn’t going both ways, because while she was being a great friend to Tina, Tina was setting her up to ruin her life, making her wish Lola would’ve finished what she started years ago...

Theresa in Wonderland - Dominique Wilkins

    Chapter 1

Theresa Mallory was on the ground drenched in her own wetness, trying to remember again what the heck was going on. She must have passed out. She remembered walking home from school talking happily on her cell phone just a few minutes before. She had been minding her own business as she had grabbed her cute pink knap sack and headed out of Tremont High School toward home.

Theresa had been deeply engaged in a conversation with her cousin about the perfect prom dress. A feminine pink one that would hug her hips, push-up her breasts, and love her butt, all at once. All while the color completed her sexy look with the innocence of a girly girl. She was so involved with designing her look, that when the hand whirled her around out of nowhere, with such fierce strength, she practically threw her phone like a professional in the Olympics.

Lola Rush stood there, emitting steam from both the top of her head and her nose as her chest dramatically rose and fell repeatedly in excitement manner. Theresa did not know a whole lot about Lola except for the fact that she heard that she had issues. Lola went to Tremont High also, but Theresa didn’t really remember seeing her or her irrelevant crew actually in a classroom on a regular basis, especially not in the summer like now. Today, in her limited 10 seconds that she was given, it looked like Lola wanted to share some of her issues with her.

Lola was tall, just like Theresa, but had more weight on her bones. As a matter of fact, you could tell that Lola was a welfare recipient, collecting EBT (food stamps). It was obvious that Lola did not come from a family of sizable fortune, but she was eating very well. So well that she did not have Riz crackers when she ate soup, but Ritz- the good stuff. Lola was about 5’ 8" and weighed at least 160 pounds. This made her at least thirty pounds heavier than Theresa. Lola could have been very pretty if she didn’t have such a bad attitude and lack of ambition (when your ways are ugly, your face doesn’t matter or it takes your looks down a notch or two).

Lola and her two goons stood there in the afternoon sun, trying their best to overshadow its good vibe with darkness. As soon as she realized that she had Theresa’s full attention, she quickly began to ramble on about her man and how Theresa should respect her. Apparently, Theresa took too long to put two and two together because Lola immediately converted that steam blowing out of her head into fire in her hands! With lightning speed, she reached up and grabbed Theresa’s neat valley-girl pony tail and swung Theresa’s body around with it!

Theresa never had a chance! Reflexively, she tried to grab Lola’s hand to pry her hair out and planted her feet flat on the ground so that she could stand again. That did not work out so well, so she tried not only to focus on the pain her head was in. She redirected the pain to Lola’s face with her fingernails as she reached up to both swing and scratch wildly, hoping to regain ground in some way.

After what seemed like an hour, she knew that she had gotten a few good licks in
