    The Witches’ Spell by William Shakespeare

    Thrice the brinded cat hath mew’d.

    Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin’d.

    Harpier cries:—’tis time! ’tis time!

    Round about the caldron go;

    In the poison’d entrails throw.—

    Toad, that under cold stone,

    Days and nights has thirty-one;

    Swelter’d venom sleeping got,

    Boil thou first i’ the charmed pot!

    Double, double toil and trouble;

    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

    Fillet of a fenny snake,

    In the caldron boil and bake;

    Eye of newt, and toe of frog,

    Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,

    Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,

    Lizard’s leg, and owlet’s wing,—

    For a charm of powerful trouble,

    Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

    Double, double toil and trouble;

    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

    Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;

    Witches’ mummy; maw and gulf

    Of the ravin’d salt-sea shark;

    Root of hemlock digg’d i the dark;

    Liver of blaspheming Jew;

    Gall of goat, and slips of yew

    Sliver’d in the moon’s eclipse;

    Nose of Turk, and Tartar’s lips;

    Finger of birth-strangled babe

    Ditch-deliver’d by a drab,—

    Make the gruel thick and slab:

    Add thereto a tiger’s chaudron,

    For the ingredients of our caldron.

    Double, double toil and trouble;

    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

    Cool it with a baboon’s blood,

    Then the charm is firm and good.

    Foreword

    If you want to cast a spell for the first time, learning the basics is prudent. This book is great for beginners and the more advanced Pagans who want to create their own spells. In these pages, you'll learn to cast a magick circle and call the four Quarters. You'll create a protection talisman or amulet to keep negative energy away during spellcasting. If you're a novice, read the book thoroughly. Don't rush into a spell that promises you riches, beauty or power. You must learn to focus during spellcasting to get what you want.

    There are different methods to raise magickal energy and to apply that energy competently for the desired outcome. If you've read multiple books about the ancient Craft of conjuring, you'll notice there is more than one way to successfully cast a spell. I offer the methods and tools that have worked successfully for me and other Pagans with whom I practice the Craft.

    You'll begin to make choices on what works best for you as you gain experience. Your natural intuition and special bond with the Goddess is as unique as you are, so don't be nervous about experimentation. This book is not an encyclopedia of spellcasting magick. Instead, I took great care to give you all the tools necessary to become a spellcaster. You'll find an accurate portrayal for each of the correspondences with a step-by-step method to create your own spells.

    Once you begin, be very clear in your own mind about what you wish to accomplish with a spell. Do you want to attract a lover, or be more attractive to your lover? There is a difference. As a conjurer, you should be able to focus on the exact purpose and the end result you desire. Spellcasting takes practice, time and effort. Nothing of value in magick is done quickly. Take time to prepare and practice your new skills.

    In all spellcasting, the correspondence of moon and planet phases, colors, metals, elements, herbs and the day of the week can all weaken or strengthen a spell. Some spells can be incredibly intricate with multiple altar tools, colored candles, herbs, and a double-sided Athame. The lunar or specific planetary cycles can greatly impact your degree of magick as well.

    This book will give you the information, tools and basics to safely cast a spell. As a Witch who casts spells, I've led the focus toward Wicca and Witchcraft, but anyone can use this information. You will not find black magick or ways to harness negative energy to harm others. This spellcasting book contains white, pure and sometimes naughty magick only. The author's intention is for interest, fun and safe spells.

    ~Blessed Be~

    Lady Rose Embyrs

    Beyond the town, beneath the moon,

    beside the standing stone,

    there lives a woman, fair of faith,

    we call the Witch alone.

    She sings to sun, moon and stars

    and gathers herbs and weeds

    with which she fashions ancient charms

    and other magic deeds.
