    Each short, edge-of-your-seat story in "Outsmart the Unexpected" unfolds an unusual, no-time-to-lose, and sometimes life and death predicament, and then challenges you to come up with a solution to help one of the characters out the situation they suddenly find themselves in. They're a fun way to develop your creativity, exercise your brain, stretch your imagination, and jump start your ability to think and react quickly, especially in situations where things are happening very fast. Use them to develop the skill to creatively solve problems when they suddenly arise.

    In some, you may need to suspend your disbelief to play along. Some will make your head spin. Others may make your heart pound. Still others will make you go hmmm. But all will challenge you to think outside your comfort zone, to look for solutions from different angles, and to not necessarily limit yourself to what you see and what the obvious solution could be. They will stretch your mind and help you to develop your ability to formulate best possible solution in situations where you must quickly decide upon a course of action and there's little available information to work with.

    Try your hand at inventing different endings and discussing and debating the possible solutions or interesting outcomes that you came up with.       Outsmart the unexpected Book was a very different kind of book. Most stories in the book show how individual choices affect the whole community. It will definitely be a good book to use in groups or classrooms to entice people to work together in finding solutions and to foster a sense of community. I would like this book to have some scenarios for teenagers. I enjoyed reading the book and thank you for sharing it.

      This book was a collection of short stories. Each story ends with the characters in situations and asking what they should do.The situations seemed unrealistic, which I suppose is to be expected since you're encouraged to create creative answers. Still, I couldn't really get into it. I think it would be good if you were working with a group of people to try to come up with solutions. It would probably be fun to make it into a group game. As it was, I worked on it alone, and it just wasn't entertaining for me. I found myself not caring either way what happened to the characters.I'm sure others will enjoy this book, but for me, as for a solo activity? It wasn't that motivating.**A free copy was provided in exchange for an honest review**

      I received this from Library Thing to read and review. The concept behind this book is an interesting one. However, I think this is a book that will bet be used by groups. I am not convinced that one person, reading this book will really go through the exercise as the author probably hoped. The situations the author presents, though interesting, are pretty far-fetched. I had difficulty imagining someone actually going through situations as described and developing creative solutions. I think it might have helped the book if the author had included some discussions about possible solutions. The appendix lists some possible ways to use the book, but, until I reached that point in the book, I missed something because I had not realized the author expected this book to be more than something one reads and tries to develop some sort of solution for. The book will stimulate thought and/or discussions, but, while some of the situations were realistic, many were way beyond that and not as appealing to me.

      "Outsmart the Unexpected" was more than exciting to read. Each story had it's own little twist that the reader was forced to question themselves with. With every situation, one will find out more about themselves which is inspiring and a a touch unnerving.What an interesting and creative way to analyze things. Plus, it would be great fun for a party.

      This book is a great opportunity to work with a teen program on thinking quickly. I thought of several book talks or teen reading programs (that's the librarian in me) where I used this book to engage students in thinking quickly about tense, crazy situations, and how to best get out of a bad situation. I'm glad I received this e-book. I intend to reread it for future activities.

      After reading the introduction I thought this book is on how to handle the unexpected events – a very fascinating topic for me.But this book doesn't teach you how to handle the unforeseen events – actually this is a collection of very short stories showing people finding themselves in unanticipated and stressful situations. There’s no end or solution to these stories and the reader is invited to resolve them by himself.If you enjoy solving puzzles, you may like this book. If you have friends who also enjoy such activity, you can do it in group.Those looking for some guidance for how to handle the unexpected – should look somewhere else.
