    Offerings - Pushpa Chadha

    Prayer

    O Blue God!

    Forever fill me with your graces

    Endow on me visions of your varied faces

    Your blessings on me and mine bestow

    Make me a flute that music may flow

    Sweet, deep, enduring, keeping every heart aglow

    Uneclipsed by time filling universal spaces.

    Frivolity

    I do not order muse

    She has her own free will.

    Prancing in and out

    Of mental caves.

    She is bent on playing

    Hide and seek.

    She brushes my waiting mind then

    Slips away. In vain I seek.

    I give up, my thoughts drifting

    Towards barren ground;

    But there she is dressed in

    Pretty words without serious intent.

    I cannot then hold her

    And let her be.

    Musing along while

    Playing her game.

    Dear Pen

    Words are like birds

    They like to fly;

    You my pen are their cage.

    If this sheet of paper

    Be their sky;

    Release them

    To pour their heartfelt bliss

    In songs of love

    As they fly.

    Inspiration

    Wrap my mind with words

    Though unspoken.

    Warm, kind, meaningful

    Analytical, scalpel of a surgeon.

    Let them pour through my pen

    Like a song; deep, divine,

    Streams of beauty, sweet, sublime

    My own pen would I dare recognize.

    My Country - A Vision

    In a glow, bright, yet soft

    Our land - India - in its length and breath

    Stands aloft!

    Of ugliness there is no trace

    Not a blemish on its

    Illumined face!

    Coloured a shade of golden brown

    Boundaries clearly defined

    A halo, God's blessing, it's holy crown.

    Would it not inspire this chosen place

    To spread the edifying path of Love,

    Endowed with divine
