About this ebook

The city of Cape Coral, Florida is a very quiet town. There usually is not much going on there other than little things usually happening. Disputes from storeowners to storeowners, cops and a scattering of small time robbers, some teenage kids doing stupid pranks or something like that but generally seldom did really serious things happen here.

Our hero David and his lifetime female friend Cressida work at the Cape Coral Senior Citizen Complex. It is a nice, neat, tidy place where elders live with wide, open spaces and within complexes with a lot of room. There are volleyball courts, pools, yoga, palates and other classes. The pools indoor and out are wide but not too deep. There is a large building containing a dance and recreation center. There are a lot of TV's here, all on different channels. The town and senior facility can be explained as nothing less than a golden ager (or as some would say - matriarch) utopia.

But, like here and everywhere on the planet now and again really crazy disasters would hit like a falling building, an attack from some oversized ocean creature, a tumbling communications tower and any manner of disasters that could result in mass death and destruction. If it were not for our embedded super hero (Safety Goggle) especially here in Cape Coral I'm afraid any sense of heaven on earth could simply not be possible.

The question you have to ask yourself is who or what is trying to destroy a person, place or our Cape Coral Garden of Eden? Secondly, what is going to happen to either resolve or contend with these strange and ever increasing seemingly targeted events trying to wreak havoc on an otherwise community most people only ever dream about?

    Cast of Characters

    Character One: David Thompson currently a fulltime plumber by certified trade and in his earlier years; a part time auto mechanic under the training and watchful eye of his father. Despite now being somewhat senior at age 69 he is still gainfully employed by enthusiastic choice at the Cape Coral Senior Citizen Complex as a maintenance plumber.

    He moves much slower now and he, doctors and his best female friend Cressida all remain mystified about a chronic back pain that out of nowhere occasionally crops up upon him. David sports around under bushy greyish black bedhead styled hair that is lightly streaked with grey nowadays. He is proud of his facial hair and keeps a manly styled well-trimmed black in color goatee.

    Under his safety looking styled glasses covering his face somewhat like a pair of swimming goggles, he proclaims is needed only for reading he thinks he is hiding a pair of steel gray eyes adorned on their outer sides with deeply ingrained crow’s feet. To bring out the color of his eyes David wears a smurf blue Tee-shirt under his work and off-duty clothing. He played football in both high school and college but in the twilight years is now showing only a slight gut. David will be happy to tell you whenever provided the opportunity how proud he is of his daughter Gina from his first, only and past marriage. Despite all the self-denial David has a huge crush on his female friend Cressida that he has known and remained friends with since they were in grade school. He is also clueless to the fact that when imminent danger is near or around Cape Coral that he (David himself) actually transforms into a super hero known as Safety Goggle!

    Character Two: Cressida not far in age behind David and is a retired nurse. She is now employed also at the Cape Coral Senior Citizen Complex. She is the activity director and keeps the senior citizen population happily engaged in everything that allows safe physical and mental enrichment. She is physical, competitive, has emerald green eyes, shoulder length thick brown hair and her love for physical exercise is evident by the looks of her well maintained slime physique.

    She is personable, outgoing and seldom ever not seen laughing and smiling. She is a joy to be around and the facility staff and tenants all love her. She is always energy packed whether leading water aerobics, swimming, tennis fuzz ball, ping pong, tennis or other activities.

    Character Three: Benny Lewis relocated in from New York and is the new resident recently moved into room 214. He is short, frail looking, has thick glasses and often seen hunched over the walker he appears to rely on heavily when walking from here to there. The resident nurses seem to think the man they nicknamed Bronx (because of his accent) is weird, somewhat odd and characteristically standoffish and mean.

    This is somewhat confusing to David and Cressida as in a short period of time they became friends with Bronx and his grandson Ronald as both treated them always with; stellar, politeness, friendliness, respect and everything else you would want and expect in a new found acquaintance.

    Character Four: Grandma Helga seemed ancient carrying the wisdom of countless eons of knowledge. She claimed to be somewhere in her nineties. With her ability to just know everything that was going on with everyone seemingly everywhere it was as if; she harbored some secret magical powers. When living in her motherland she went by the name Grandma Helena. Her daughter Valerya and granddaughter Florentina. While in Russia the villagers were well aware of the family trait to be ruthless and merciless with their tricks and pranks pulled on and among the family.

    In the states Grandma Helga, her husband Louie would hang out by the pool. Grandma watched her daughter Helen and grandchildren Lucy and Brian do tricks, jokes and play in the pool. There always seemed to be a large flock of other kids running around Grandma Helga like a little miniature protective military force. They would come and go and became a running joke among staff members as to where these little creature were and are. This was neither concerning nor disconcerting as the giggling force of little ones would appear and disappear constantly without really ever being a bother to anyone. Grandpa on the other hand always fell asleep and was accused of missing everything and thus subsequently nicknamed Lousy Louie by his grandchildren.

    Other Scattered Characters you are about to meet are as follows;

    Mr. Davidson: The overall man in charge (the boss) at Cape Coral Senior Citizen Complex.

    Mr. Johnsonburg: A well liked resident living in room 119 who has a pirate like laughter that makes him an even more memorable personality. Mr. Johnsonburg and his inseparable friends Mr. Fitzgerald, Mr. King and Mr. Martin were always around each other, laughing, smiling and playing some kind of board game. Been a foursome since their teens and got through the Vietnam War together.

    The Suit: It is exactly that a green body suit with God awful somewhat iridescent yellow trim on the chest, back, arms and wrist areas that make this zippered leotard ensemble different yet, somewhat as striking too like a Superman, Batman or other hero admirable outfits. It has a mind of its own when zipping out of its storage wardrobe that happens to be the bedroom closet in David’s Condo Flat. It searches out David, dresses around him in a flash and converts our heroic figure into Super Goggle loved by all that support truth, justice, and the American Way. Just like Superman our hero Super Goggle becomes faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. However, being nearly 70 and despite super strength, speed and an ability to fly, Super Goggle hasn’t got the best eyesight and has a slightly pouched midsection.

    Additionally, the transformation leaves our hero unable to remember any of his lion-hearted and accomplished acts.
