About this ebook
The conclusion of the bestselling Demon War series, which began with Rides a Dread Legion.
Recent events have devastated the Conclave of Shadows; the discovery of the Demon horde on the heels of the taredhel invasion of Midkemia, the threat of the star elves themselves, and the terrible personal cost paid by Pug and his family.
But grieving must wait. At a deserted fortress in the Valley of Lost Men, the Conclave’s agents witness horror beyond their imagination, orchestrated by a familiar enemy. But Belasco's motives are as yet unclear. The Conclave must regroup and discover the true meaning behind the chaos seeded by the evil magician if they are ever to find a way to stop the destruction of Triagia before the demon horde even arrives.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I wish I had the books in between this series and the initial 4 books Feist wrote about Midkemia and Pug, but sadly our public library only has bits and pieces of most authors' series. I did at least get to read the first book in this trilogy, and Feist does a pretty good job of filling in readers who have missed earlier books in the sequence.
In this trilogy Pug and his friends are faced with a whole branch of magic and magical creatures beyond Pug's knowledge and understanding, demons that have overrun several worlds already and that seem poised to invade Midkemia next. In addition to these demons, a small but deadly bunch of elves have appeared, descended from the elves that fled Midkemia many centuries ago. They are arrogant and narrow-minded, hell-bent on conquering or enslaving the races that occupy their ancestral home, so long as they can do so without the demons taking advantage of the chaos and destroying them all. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good continuation of the overall series...
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Hmmm... not quite up to his usual standards I thought, a bit more YA-ish than usual. Big fan though, I'll be waiting for the next one.
