About this ebook
Like her sister before her, June leaves her Michigan home to embrace her future as a mail-order bride to a young Washington State pastor. But from the start, nothing works out as June expects. Caught up in her fiancé’s vision for an elaborate tabernacle that would befit God’s glory, she soon learns that not everyone approves of the plan; some would rather support the local orphanage. June finds herself drawn to the orphanage run by her friend Samantha and her aging aunt. Caring for the orphans is a natural outlet for June’s generous, nurturing spirit. But the two projects seem incompatible, and June finds herself faced with difficult choices—choices that challenge both her faith and her heart.

Reviews for June
5 ratings3 reviews
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Historical American novel featuring one of the many 'mail-order brides' of the 1800s. Quite a good plot, though none of the characters were entirely believable.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked this book, though not as much as the one just before and after it. I'm not sure why. I did like the characters, but I enjoyed the Faith and Hope stories better. Though I really liked how this one interconnected with Faith a little, that's always nice in a series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Mail-order bride June Kallahan finds herself in Seattle, Washington, to meet her intended, Eli Messenger. Eli is helping a famous evangelist, Isaac Inman, but has fallen ill before June arrives. When Eli suddenly dies, June decides to stay on and help Isaac build his "showy tabernacle". She also sees a great need to help the local orphanage too. Eli's friend Parker Sentell, doesn't see eye to eye with Isaac and his failure to help the orphanage over collecting money for his huge work. June tries to see both men's point of view, but seems all she does is fight with Parker. Can June and Parker ever come to terms with their true feelings for each other? This was another delightful tale of the Kallahan sisters who set out to be mail-order brides. The stories are easy to read and enjoyable to see how God works things out in the end. You could easily read this story as a stand alone book, but having read book one, "Faith", I recommend them all, as so far I have not been disappointed.
