I have studied and practiced raw feeding for over 15 years. I rescue Great Danes and currently have 2; Odin is three 3 years old and Camelot is 7 (as of Sep 2014). I'm in a middle of a 30 year research project into extending the life of dogs. I also research natural ways to protect dogs from cancer. After 15 years my findings are so encouraging that for the next 15 years I will track and documents 1000 dogs following my plan based on my findings. I also offer lifetime support to everyone that want to switch their dog to raw and join my project(s) (no cost). More information can be found on my website longlivingpets.com

This book is well-researched and well-written and it is evident his intentions are of the best kind. I liked the no-nonsense approach he takes in writing this book. It is short and to the point. Unlike most authors in the non-fiction space nowadays Sandberg doesn't waste time on hyping up his own book, spending pages and pages on how his book will change your life. To me that gives him a feel of authenticity. Most things he writes about dog nutrition are easily verifiable. All in all, this book will serve as a trustworthy and easy-to-follow guidebook for those who want to start feeding their pets raw meat, while keeping it slightly more "civilized" and adapted to our modern lifestyles.
However I need to do more research to verify some of the claims Mr. Sandberg makes in his book, especially the second part of his book, where he presents natural cancer remedies. I am always a bit suspicious about natural remedies, in particular for incurable diseases like cancer, however, Sandberg's presentation is measured and he doesn't claim to have found a cure or anything of that sort.

My Dedication… Inspiration… Mission
This guide is dedicated to my two incredible and special Great Danes, Camelot and Rex. The two of you are the inspiration behind as well as the reason for my mission in life:
To help our beloved pets live long and healthy lives
Camelot (photo left) was my first Great Dane in America. He died of cancer at age 8-1/2. This devastating loss drove me to study both the cause of cancer in pets and effective preventative measures that can be taken to reduce the risk of the disease in pets. I am determined to never have a pet in my care suffer from this horrible disease again. You’ll find more on cancer prevention in the second part of this guide.
Rex (photo right) lived until age 13, against all odds, after spending the first four years of his life locked up in a garage and
