Texas ranger Jack is tracking the outlaws who killed his sister-in-law, and the trail leads right to Elizabeth's house just as she's in labor. He stays to care for her through the winter, never realizing until a series of events that her deceased husband was the outlaw he sought.

Well, I just finished my second Sherri Shackleford and I continue to be well entertained. Her writing still quite good and I am still impressed. Thanks again.
