About this ebook

A ship full of women could only cause trouble!

Of that Governor Sir Robert Kerr was certain, just by considering their chaperon! Though a widow, Mrs. Jocelyn Finch was young, vivacious and utterly determined to have her own wayespecially with him!

Challenging the governor of Halifax, Nova Scotia, to a duel was obviously a poor way to introduce herself. But when Sir Robert accused Jocelyn and her charges of something, well, less ladylike than husband-hunting, what else could she do? Besides, someone had to show this straitlaced, yet gloriously compelling figure of a man that there was more to life than doing one's duty!

Loved this book. It sat in my TBR for almost a year. I kept passing over it. I wish I had read it immediately upon purchase.
Jocelyn Finch an estranged daughter of a marquis and widow of a serviceman has decided to take the reins of her own life in hand and chaperone a ship full of young marrigable women bound for Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Governor of the colony is Robert Kerr. A soldier who won high honours in the battle of Waterloo and is rewarded with a very high post in the new colony. He is finding it difficult to step from the duty first attitude of a soldier to the political position of a Governor. He has progressive ideas but some social skills he lacks stand in the way.

The bride ship in his opinion is the very last thing a new colony of hard working men needs. So of course what would any women do who is not letting a man run her life and she has been told to get back on her ship and go elsewhere? You slap his face with your glove and challenge him to a duel.

I liked the fiesty Jocelyn very much and I soon loved the soft hearted Robert. The story builds in interest to an ending that was five star. Tears, smiles so perfect.

Take this book out of your TBR and read it...now.
