    Rina Rogers adjusted the heavy sports bag on her shoulder and frowned at the plain brick front of the old, utilitarian building bearing a small, brushed brass sign beside the door that read Sebastian Como, Fencing Master/Instructor.

    Huh. Not very impressive for a world-class fencing school. She decided to ignore first impressions and try it out anyway. The two thousand miles she'd traveled to see Como made it silly to walk away just because the façade was boring.

    Opening the front door, she then gazed around at a reception area and the rooms off it that would have been at home in a men's club. Leather, dark paneling, crimson velvet curtains—the whole nine yards. A young girl with a perky expression sat at the desk looking out of place. When Rina asked about an appointment with Sebastian Como, the receptionist disappeared through one of the paneled doors.

    After waiting for a few minutes, Rina retreated to a soft, burgundy leather armchair and fumed. This guy had better be the real thing. Otherwise, this would be the fifth fencing school she'd studied at to no avail. No one else had been able to help her. It wasn't that she was difficult to work with; it was that the instructors hadn't been good enough to help her achieve her goal. It was their faults, not hers, she reasoned. Again.

    Finally, a man who could be no other than Sebastian Como, dressed in a black velvet warm-up suit, strolled out
