Chapter One
Jake dipped his finger into the mud and then slid it in a broad curve along Roxanne Collins’ soft, white skin. He was a painter, an artiste, and at the moment he couldn't think of a better medium to paint with than mud, or a better muse than the woman beneath him.
We shouldn't be doing this.
Roxie’s sweet southern accent was like music to his ears. It’s too dangerous.
Shh. I need quiet.
He drew a line, and then dipped his finger into the bowl of scented spa mud once more. And stop moving, you'll ruin it.
He wished he had his lucky paint brush with him. Then he could create finer lines and more definition. He never brought such things to the spa, however. He liked to keep his artistic pursuits separate from his day job. None of his coworkers would understand his deep need to create or his passion for color and beauty anyway.
Roxie was the only one who knew his secret. She wasn’t like the rest of the staff at the Ecstasy Spa. She understood him in a way that no one else did. When she looked at him with those beautiful round eyes, Jake’s chest constricted and his cock ached. It was more than lust, more than friendship. With each passing day, Roxie was becoming more and more important to him.
He caught a glimpse of her smile as she turned her head to the side and rested it in her hands. Soft, blonde tendrils of hair fell over the spa table, forming a halo around her heart-shaped face. It feels good. I’ve always loved the smell of lavender.
I know.
It was the reason why he chose this particular mud over the others. Lavender was her scent. He couldn’t breathe in the aroma and not think of Roxie. He loved her smile, laughter and quick wit. She accepted Jake for who he was and didn’t try to change him. All of his life Jake had been going one way and the rest of society another. It was such a relief to find someone who didn’t think he was a freak.
There was nothing that he didn’t love about the woman beneath him. She was perfect. Some day he was going to take their friends-with-benefits relationship to the next level, but not today. There were too many risks in voicing his deepest desires, and neither of them was prepared for the potential fallout.
Roxie shifted beneath him. Are you done yet? I want to see.
No, stay still.
He squeezed his thighs around her hips to hold her steady. He didn’t need to straddle her hips to paint, but she didn’t know that, and he liked the feel of her skin next to his. His cock lengthened as he leaned over her body to examine his design. The tip of his erection nudged her backside, sending a tingling heat up through his torso. He bit back a groan and continued working.
Fuck, he wanted her, wanted her bad. He should have been tired from the explosive sex they had an hour ago, but he wasn’t. There was something about Roxie that fed his libido. Painting on her skin turned out to be an incredible aphrodisiac for both of them, much more so than he had thought. He could smell her sweet, feminine scent as it drifted up into the air between them. It mingled with the lavender aroma and fueled his desire.
She shivered as he touched her back, and his cock jerked in response. Part of him wanted to raise her beautiful hips off the table and slip inside her body. That was impossible however. Jake had to finish the painting first. Besides, he knew that the longer they both waited for sex, the better the release would be when it finally came.
He ran his finger across her lower back, marveling at how soft her skin felt next to his. Roxie’s low moan sounded like music to his ears. Jake closed his eyes and fought for control. Just a few more strokes, and he’d be done. He could do it.
As much as he wanted to fuck her, Jake knew that he had to put off his own needs until his artwork was complete.
When he confided in Roxie about his passion for painting two days ago, she had insisted on seeing one of his oils. Unfortunately, all of his paintings were at the local gallery being prepared for his first art show, so he offered to do a small, crude picture on her back with the spa mud instead.
She wiggled as his finger slipped down her lower back. Please Jake, you're killing me.
Soon.
He loved touching her soft ivory skin. It was such a beautiful contrast with his more olive coloring. His cock ached as he thought of how well their bodies fit together. He needed to be inside her once more, but was determined to take his time with the artwork. He wanted the picture to be perfect. Roxie was starting to mean so much more to him than a friend that he occasionally fucked and he wanted her to be impressed with his skill.
There,
he said, sweeping his finger up toward her shoulder. Done.
I want to see.
Jake forced himself off her hips and helped her sit up. Hold your hair out of the way, the mud is still damp.
She swept her long, blonde hair up and held it to her head as she jumped to the floor. Roxie ran over to the far wall, her hips swaying in the most intoxicating manner. Jake bit back a moan at the sight. Would they have enough time for sex before Roxie’s client arrived? He hoped so. Otherwise he was going to be stuck taming his erection by himself in the shower room down the hall.
Roxie faced away from the mirror and looked over her shoulder. Jake watched her features soften as she stared at the large image of a man and woman kissing on her back.
Oh Jake. It's beautiful.
Jake's felt a warm sense of pride. It's us.
I can see that.
She shifted her body to the right and left, trying to get a better look. It's gorgeous.
She grabbed a clip from the nearby table and fastened her hair to her head. You're very talented.
Thank you.
He rubbed his muddy fingers on a nearby towel. I just hope that others think so, too.
They will.
She met his gaze and smiled. Your show is going to be fabulous. I know it.
He hoped she was right. This was Jake’s first art show. It was meager by art show standards, but it was a start. He had a personal connection to each and every one of his paintings and it took a lot of courage to put himself out there. For a long time Jake balked at showing others his work, but recently he had become desperate. He
