Read this book some time ago with a friend, excellent. We went on a L. Johnson binge after that and read every one of her books we could find. She is at the top of our list now.

Prologue

Ray

Right there baby, you're hitting my spot! Don't stop; please don’t stop … oooh; that feels so good! Shiiittt!

Lucky bitch! I thought to myself as I lay here on my hands and knees with this dude who couldn't tell the difference between an asshole and vagina! And the nerve of him to keep asking Is this mine! Hell nawl, its mine! Now I have to lay here and listen to her moaning outside the door. Man, how do we always manage to be in this predicament? (Well I know the answer; I'm just talking to myself.) Anyway, I wish she would hurry up and cum so that I can get the hell out of here!

Why me? Why is it always me? It's because of her and her tricks that we ended up at this guy’s bachelor’s party, being the center of attention to begin with! Oh, I guess I should mention that we had to almost fight the actual strippers who were hired because she took their spotlight by giving the groom a lap dance that would make a blind man blush, (damn slut)!

Oh God, I'm cumming!

Finally! I get up, lower my dress, pat him on his head and walk out leaving him sitting there looking foolish. Hell, that's what I've been doing for the last 23 minutes. Yes, I counted because there wasn't anything else to do. Now, if the other girls are done so we can get out of here and go to Waffle House for some eggs and hash browns!

Come on Cam, I screamed! Hell, you’ve had enough fun!"

Before we go on, let me allow

you to meet the girls.

Hey, I’m Camille but you can call me Cam. I am 34 years young and I’ve been married to Thomas Shannon for 13 years. We have 2 teenage kids, Courtney, 12 & Thomas Jr 11. I am a corporate lawyer by day and a freak by night. I enjoy walking all over men in the courtroom, but I enjoy it better with a pair of stilettos and no clothes. It’s not about the money, it’s about the power that we, as women, possess with the thing that God gave us between our legs. My husband is also an attorney and although our sex life is alright, I want more and he just isn’t willing to give it to me. I want him to notice me and he doesn’t, others do and I love the attention that I get from them. If only my husband would step outside of his box, MAN, our sex life would be the bomb.

Hello, I’m Lynesha but everybody calls me Lyn.I am 38 years old and the owner of a fast growing boutique of plus size clothing. Yes, I am a plus size chick that keeps the curves banging!I got married really young, right out of high school, to my sweetheart, Paul Williams. Paul is a wonderful man and we have a 17 year old daughter, Kelsey, whom I adore.I enjoy fashion and makeup and I’ll give a skinny chick a run for her money any day of the week! My husband is the head of his construction company. Whew!Just thinking about his sexy, sweaty ass has made me lose my train of thought… Damn! Yea, my husband still turns me on, but every now and thenI need the feel and taste of someone else. Don’t judge me, hell you do too; the only difference is I sometimes act on mine.

What’s up y’all? It’s your girl Ray, short for Raylin. I’ve had 37 birthdays and I’m married to Justin Greer. We share 3 teenage children, Rashida 16, Justin Jr 14 & Tristan 12. I am an executive in a huge boat distribution company. I am not the skinny chick that Lyn mentioned above because I, too, have curves and I wear them well. I believe that the beauty of a woman comes from within and if God gave it to you then you may as well flaunt it. I love my husband who was blessed with an amazing package between his legs, but we just don’t click emotionally. He is a great father and I think we’ve stayed together for the kids, but I’m tired of that and I need someone who understands me, knows how I like to be touched and actually touches me. Anyway, hell, never mind I can’t think anymore!

Why do I have to introduce myself? If they want to know about me, read my Facebook page! Shit!Ok, Ok … Hey, I’m Kerri and that’s not short for nothing, just Kerri. I’m 33 years old and the mother of a beautiful son, MJ, who is 1 year old (almost 2) and I am currently in the process of opening a bakery. I’m married to Michael Davis who is a no good, lying, lowdown--; oh, sorry y’all (I digress)! Why am I still here with him? I don’t know! Maybe it’s because of the baby or maybe it’s because I’m crazy!Any way I am thankful for these women because these excursions have truly saved my life. God has blessed me with a talent for baking and opening my own spot has been one big dream come true! I cannot wait to see what God has in store for my future!

Hey, I’m Chloe, 32 and I’m a newlywed. Chris Lark and I have been married for over a year now and although we don’t have children together, I have 2 step daughters, Lauren 17 & Brittney 16. I am the top editor of a well-known fashion magazine which I absolutely love. I know you’re trying to figure out how a newlywed has time to have an adventure but my husband barely notices me, so I get my attention elsewhere. Humph, his loss! Like I stated before, I don’t have children and we are not ready for any, so I make sure to keep my birth control in check and condoms on deck! Ya feel me? Who am I kidding? I barely have time for sex with myself, let alone anyone else!

And I’m Shelby James. Some say that I am hell on wheels; but I say that I am simply being me. I am a feisty and confident 35 year old with the curves to match. I am a stay at home mom of a beautiful 6 month old baby girl and wife to Brian James. My husband adores me. He owns his own real estate firm and that keeps him busy. That’s fine with me because it gives me time to shop, meddle in my girl’s business and raise my daughter. Don’t get it twisted, I am college educated and I was once a career woman, but taking care of my family is now my top priority. Yea, I like the finer things in life and I am not ashamed to say it. I keep my husband satisfied and sex for me … well, you’ll see!

A Secret Worth Keeping

Chapter 1

Shelby

Ok ladies; are you ready to get this meeting started? Wait, where’s Cam?

Here, I am! She said, coming through the door looking like a million bucks and walking like she was on time.

About time, I said.

Anyway, ladies grab your wine glasses and come on around and let’s talk about our latest adventure.

First things first, let’s go over the code of conduct.Lyn, can you do that for me?

Sure thing, hell I can recite it in my sleep! Lyn replied.

Everything that we discuss stays between us.Don’t go back spilling anything while having pillow talk with your husband, coworkers, boos or anybody.

Everything that we do stays between us. Again, keep your damn mouth closed!

Keep yourself up! The last thing you need is a broke down woman trying to pull off being bad because either you got it or you don’t!

This life is a secret worth keeping, so take this shit to your grave!

All the girls said in unison, For sure!

Now, to get the business out of the way, everyone needs to make sure their dues are paid up for the month. We can’t keep exploring with no money in the bank. Although we rarely spend any, we need it just in case one of these men get out of line, husbands included, I said.

Girl, you know that’s true, because once they get a look at all this, they go stone crazy! said Lyn.

Ray laughed, Girl, you’re crazy but she has a point; so we need to make sure we keep the bank account together.

Now, Cam, I must say some of us really enjoyed that bachelor party the other night. Girl, you did the damn thing with that lap dance; but next time can you make sure we don’t have to fight! I said laughing.

You know how I do and I’ll try. She laughed. How do you think my husband learned to speak in tongues, she asked?

Kerri almost choked on her wine from laughing.Shit, maybe you need to start a class or something, Kerri added in between coughs.

Girl, you are a mess! Anyway, back to the meeting. Who is responsible for March’s outing? And please make sure we don’t have to fight any strippers this time.Oh, we all know that February is husband month, so we make no plans for it, no exceptions.

It’s my turn, said Ray; and I have the perfect weekend planned. Can everybody get away for a weekend because we have 2 days and 1 night in Gatlinburg, TN already planned?

Gatlinburg, asked Cam?

Yes, let’s just say it’s an added bonus from my boss, Ray answered. Alright now, that’s what I’m talking about. Just give me the days, what we will need and consider it done, I added.

Woo, I can’t wait to skinny dip in the mountains, said Lyn.

Girl, we get tired of seeing your ass! said Chloe!

Yea but I must say it is a fat one! said Lyn.

Oh Lord! And on that note, unless someone has anything else, meeting adjourned. Let’s eat!

Now, let me explain about us,

Dem Damn Divas

Every other month, we get together for a get-a-way, just us girls. Well, technically, it’s just us girls with the exception of the men who finance it. No, we are not prostitutes but simply educated, respected, career wives who enjoy the company of other men, from time to time; at their expense. Once the excursion is over, we each go back to our families and never bring up whatever happens again and wait 2 months until the next one. I, (Shelby), am the voice of reason, as I am responsible for making sure things go as planned.

My main thing is to make sure the girls stay out of trouble and that we have money in case we get into trouble. I also do some digging on the men to ensure that we don’t have runny mouth men (you know the ones who run their mouths more than a gossiping girl), that we are also up on the game with condoms, physicals and ready to spend the men’s hard earned money.Oh, they must also be strong enough to take this shit to their graves. We spend a little time with them doing the thangs that grown folk do, and then we go back to our lives. See, the good thing about us is that we can sleep with you on Friday and walk right past your ass on Saturday like we’ve never met.

Yep, Dem Damn Divas we got it like that! We act like ladies but we think like men!

Chapter 2

Shelby

Who in the hell thought of Valentine’s Day anyway?I guess I could Google it, but I don’t have time. I’m trying to figure out what I am wearing to this Valentine’s Gala being given by this charity that my husband donates to.Yea, I like parties and getting dressed up, but I am not in the mood for being friendly today.Dang it! What am I going to wear and who is this calling me now?

Hello.

Hey, girl you busy? asked Cam.

Hey Cam; no, just trying to figure out something to wear tonight.I said.

Now you know you got 50 dresses in that damn closet, pick one and stop making it hard, she replied.

I know and I am but what’s up with you?I asked.

Look, I was out the other night having dinner with a client and you will never guess who I saw in the restaurant booed up? she asked.

Please don’t tell me it was Chloe’s husband again? I asked.

She huffed and said, Yep, his ass sitting in there acting like he doesn’t have a wife at home.I’m tired of him treating her that way.I keep telling her she needs to leave his ass, hell, she can do much better and she deserves more and…

Cam, slow down, Chloe is grown and she knows that she is married to an asshole. If she keeps holding on to him, there isn’t anything we can do about it but support her. I cut in during her rant.

But there has got to be something. I’m going to call her because she deserves to be treated better than this, Cam said.

Cam, don’t do that. Let her figure it out on her own without your insightful thoughts, just be there for her. Ok? I said.

Cam blew out a long breath and replied, Ok, but I don’t like this shit!

I know but it isn’t your problem, it’s hers.Let her fix it, got it?Cam, got it? I asked.

She finally
