Happily Ever After?. Reviews for HIDDEN MICKEY 3
5 ratings2 reviews
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Hidden Mickey 3: Wolf! is the third book in a series of adventures that are as much about Disneyland history and the story of Walt Disney's life than anything else. The first two books read like a National Treasure-type search through Disneyana. This book takes a more fantasy turn, sure to please people in the romance aisles, fans of fantasy romance, time travel buffs, and Disney fans. This book goes more in depth to some of the characters introduced in the first two books and while you could read these out of order, I wouldn't recommend it. Go back and get the first two and read them in sequence. I think they are richer that way and some things will be less confusing in this book.It is hard to describe the plot without giving too much away, but essentially you have a race to get some people off an "Island" which is a semi-fantasy/time travel portal of things that are connected to Disneyland. In this case, as changes are made to Frontierland and Tom Sawyer's island, things change in this world of the Old West on the other side of the portal. Things quickly get complicated and magical complications involving wolves, pendants, swans appear. The author tried very hard to get Disneyland history correct. While there is less of Disneyland and more fantasy in this book than the previous two in the series, they continue to be enjoyable adventures.(Please note, I was hired as an editor/proofreader for this book, but I was not paid for reviewing--I just want to share my opinion with readers)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not my favorite in the series so far but well worth the read. The author in her preface says that she adds fantasy to this one and she certainly did. This one again is a race to get some people off the Island. We learn more about wolf and a few of the other characters from previous books make brief appearances. It's hard to explain this one without giving away big chunks of the story. Wolf goes back in time with another park employee to save some people from the Island. We more details about Wolf's life and some new characters added into this one. Will be interesting to see where they go with the series. The next book is also a stand alone by Nancy Temple Rodrigue with apparently book number 5 being a stand alone by alone by the other author of the previous two books.
