Chapter One
That Stinks!
One of the main questions massage therapists ask each other is how to get the rancid smell (and accompanying oils/lotions) out of our sheets. It's expensive buying new sheets and sometimes, you must use oils/lotions that absorb into your sheet causing them to smell.
I had seven sets of sheets that I used for over 16 years (until I painted and redesigned my massage room). Never did they stink of rancid oil or lotion because of a trick I learned a long while ago; use dishwasher detergent once a week on your sheets and wash them in as hot of water as you can.
Dish detergent is not harsh as you may think and if your washer has an extra rinse cycle, you are pretty much guaranteed to remove all detergents and oils from your sheets. Since it is dishwasher detergent, you do not have to worry about it foaming up and causing
