Nothing special, nothing horrible, just pretty forgettable. Heroine disguises herself as a boy (have I mentioned before how much I despise this plot point?) so she & her brother can fulfill their recently deceased father's dream of going to California. She's a bit TSTL, in that she refuses to listen to advice. A bit of a love triangle. Hero's got a guilt complex. Some minor drama with Indians & a near-mutiny, but all the conflicts are resolved way too easily.
