    Dedication

Summer Vacation Devotions is dedicated to the Lord – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

    Brief Introduction

In the spring of 2009, my Pastor and our church worship director were looking for a book of summer devotions to give to families of our church – something they could take with them on their summer vacations. They asked me to help in that search.

After a few days of finding nothing, I started writing my own. I sent the first one and several other ideas for others to my Pastor and the worship director. They encouraged me to write the rest. So, I did. They edited my work, we ran it off the church printers, and it was given out to the congregation. I was amazed that people liked it, even wanting copies to give to their family members who lived out of town.

Six years passed, and my mom asked me if I would re-publish them. I had planned on it a few years ago, but things came together this year (2015) and I re-edited and re-formatted this project in a few weeks.

So, here it is, a project that started at the behest of my Pastor at the time, Pastor Paul Schroeder, and my worship director, Annette Plymale. Without their encouragement, I would have never finished the first version. Without my mom, Kathleen Gillespie, I would have never finished this re-print.

Whatever is good in these devotions, it is a gift from God, or a benefit of the editing and encouragement of others. Whatever is messy is mine.

I hope you enjoy these devotions and find them encouraging for your walk with Jesus.
