To all those who still hadn't found their talent, don’t worry, you’ll find it one day; whether it’s a Green, Villa, Ellaan, Rachel, Fern, or any other you have in you, it’s there.
The Magnificent 5
Green
Chin up, Green, chin up!
Called Coach, showing me how my chin should be up. I’ve been working on this dance for weeks, since I’m going to be a solo dancer in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. I’m representing the latest Broadway show I’m dancing in, Little Feet, and I only have one month left!
Relax, Green, you’re doing fine,
Coach V tells me. I really like her, she’s a great dancer, and she teaches well. Her pep talks are the best.
You are a world-known dancer, and everyone knows you. You’ve already proven that you’re good-excellent-dancer. You aren’t proving anything, you are just showing them your moves again.
I nod, and keep twisting and twirling and leaping. I’m a classic dancer. I’m not really into jazz. But I’ll dance to anything.
Last week my agent dropped by. He’s actually my coach’s husband, and it was her who recommended him to my parents. I call him Agent V.
So anyways, he dropped by last week and handed me a magazine. I was plastered on the cover, along with four other girls.
The press is calling you ‘The Magnificent 5’. I don’t know much about all the others, but I’ll search. Don’t worry,
and he left.
That’s how I found out about ‘The Magnificent 5’.
Villa
I heard about ‘The Magnificent 5’ from my friends. I didn’t think It’s a big deal. So I didn’t tell my parents. I forgot about it because I got a 74 on my Math test, and that’s a good grade for me.
I’m in the lowest of the low. I’m really bad with numbers. And letters. I also have dyslexia. And I’m super OCD. The only thing that relaxes me is art.
When I was five years old I drew a picture, and my parents entered it to a contest, to see if it was good as it seems to them. Three months later, I was a painter. An artist. My title.
Back to today. I was just peacefully sketching on a canvas in my room (which is the re-done garage, also known as Mom’s and my studio.) when Scarlett, my sis, ran inside.
Mom and Dad are calling you upstairs right away. They are really happy about something. And put your work shirt on, Mom hates when you don’t use it,
of-course, I thought first it was the math test. But as you can guess, it was ‘The Magnificent 5’.
We’re so proud of you, hon,
says Dad, hugging me, and three more paintings were sold today, and the really pretty abstract one you painted a month ago was sold to a museum.
This happens all the time to my paintings, and sometimes to Mom’s. I like being an artist, but it’s not only paintings on canvas that I make. Paper Mache, stained glass, drawing on glass, clay, sculptures, etc. My favorite is abstract though.
‘The Magnificent 5’ is a great opportunity for you, sweetheart,
Mom said. I knew you could do it.
I don’t understand. Do what? I’m so confused. I’m just doing what I like to do, and what I’m good at.
Ellaan
I never understood famous people-or kids-who don’t understand what it means to be famous. I know what it means, since I led a normal life before hand. With a big sister, and two younger brothers.
I’m glad I’m an actress. You get to meet new people. It’s fun doing stunts and learning new things.
I’m not a big talker. I love writing, and when I get into character I do it all the way.
Right now I’m on the movie set of Kinggfolk
, something with a king of a secret kingdom who keeps it a secret from his kids, his wife, the queen, died, and then he’s taken captive, and you know the rest. Classic movie, with the kids helping, and all those.
I saw ‘The Magnificent 5’ in a magazine. My agent called me to tell that they want to make a reality TV show.
It’s gonna be great! You’ll meet new people and be in new places, just like you always wanted. And hey, you are meeting with all of them and with the director-Rob Henderson, isn’t that great-and after you guys film the show, you won't have to meet their little faces again!
I just nodded. I always wanted my own show. But now, I’m not so sure if this is what I wanted.
Rachel
My voice rings with the words I’m getting out. It’s a sad song, but it’s real happy in the end. I feel a tear run down my cheek as I sing. But I can’t stop. I’m happy I can’t.
My agent, my Dad, the recorder, and my older brother are looking at me from behind the glass. I look at the song sheet. I see the ending note. The ending note that I wrote. I start the ending note. I finish it.
And… that’s it. I recorded my latest song. Perfect,
