1 ADF goes mobile – Webapplikationen für mobiles Internet mit JDeveloper/ADF entwickeln
Smartphones werden immer leistungsfähiger und mit Apps kann man mobile Geräte über ihre herkömmlichen Anwendungsbereiche, wie telefonieren, E-Mails senden und empfangen bzw. Termine verwalten, hinaus nutzen. Seit die mobilen Geräte internetfähig sind, besteht die Möglichkeit, Applikationen auszuführen. Sie werden nur nicht aus einem App Store geladen, sondern über das mobile Web. Dieser shortcut beschreibt die Vorgehensweise bei der Entwicklung von Applikationen für das mobile Web mit JDeveloper/ADF.
Bei nativen Apps ist die Ergonomie der Anwendungen in den meisten Fällen optimal auf das jeweilige mobile Gerät abgestimmt. Webapplikationen für mobile Geräte sind hingegen plattformunabhängig. Das ist einer der Gründe dafür, dass Webapplikationen nach den Apps für die Platzhirsche iOS und Android auf Platz drei des „Developer Mindshare liegen, der im „Developer Economics
[1] veröffentlicht wurde. Ein weiterer Vorteil von Webapplikationen für mobile Geräte ist, dass sie meistens nichts kosten und darüber hinaus eine größere Gemeinde erreichen. Es stellt sich die Frage nach einem leistungsfähigen Tool für die Entwicklung von Applikationen für das mobile Web. Mit JDeveloper/ADF von Oracle steht ein leistungsfähiges Tandem aus IDE und Framework für die Entwicklung von Applikationen für das mobile Web zur Verfügung. Ein guter Grund sich dieses Paar näher anzuschauen, um folgende Fragen beantworten zu können:
Wie entwickle ich eine Anwendung für das mobile Web?
Welche Besonderheiten müssen berücksichtigt werden im Vergleich zur Entwicklung einer Webapplikation für den Laptop bzw. Desktop?
Wie muss ich vorgehen, wenn ich eine bestehende Webanwendung anpassen möchte, damit sie auf einem mobilen Gerät performant und ressourcensparend ablaufen kann?
Es gibt folgende Technologien für die View des MVC Patterns, die man mit JDeveloper/ADF bearbeiten kann: ADF Faces und Apache Richfaces Trinidad. Die View läuft auf dem Client, die anderen beiden Tiers auf dem Server. Mit ADF
