About this ebook

The Author gently guides the reader towards their own interpretation and meaning of personal spirituality, which he believes is innate to our being. Defining and expanding on spirituality is a difficult task because the subject means different things to different people. He succeeds in this endeavor by elaborating on subjects such as: awareness, experiencing the present, oneness, truth, engagement, empowerment, and finally love, the only emotion that makes all things meaningful and worthy.
He challenges the reader to examine “their world within”, and stresses that what we observe in the world around us using our physical senses is mostly a reflection of conscious thought. He points out how our physical environment can influence certain consequences regarding our inner thoughts, and ultimately, our actions and our ability to adopt and maintain a more harmonious existence. He proceeds to explain that the sad and unnecessary alternative to the personal spiritual journey is painful; an endless cycle of material, self-centered desire and action mostly manufactured by our external world. He believes that the attainment of inner peace through spiritual practice is ultimately the best way to contribute to the world, and the easiest way toward living a harmonious life.

Rolley Hurley

Perhaps it was from his early childhood where his introspective insight may be found, and of where he instinctively embraced the only perception he knew. Rolley was born legally blind, which blurred the visual world around him until the age of six, when eyeglasses dramatically changed his initial introduction. This new perspective never truly destroyed the intensity of his earlier environment. The evidence of his inward reality to find comfort and meaning that he experienced early on and how he has come to know life today is finally being revealed through his writing. He attempts to illustrate the essence of this understanding that he believes is inherited from birth. After years of denying his true aspirations, he finally proceeded to exploit his passion for writing. He learned many skills in the art of Labor along the way, which labeled him a jack of many trades. There were many facets of life he experienced that could have prevented his progress, but none had more impact than his battle with Alcoholism. Fortunate to have found sobriety that could redefine his character at the age of thirty four, he developed a spiritual path in order to remain sober. He has since succumbed to his spiritual principles and philosophical ideas with an extended need to write it down. Always writing from what he feels, a lot of his works are privately distributed. Wanting to share with everyone his gained knowledge of happiness, he is now publishing several of his short stories and articles. His intentions are to clarify the meaning of anything he writes, with a simple and easy to understand explanation.

There are many signs within the fog of unknown consequences that reveal the truth for living. We may embrace life’s melody with great expectation, or remain trapped by the cloudiness of ignorant thought. Spirituality is Nature, or Natural Order.

    The Paradox of Life

From a divine conception, much too precious to ignore, we are born into this world as a welcomed gift to humanity. There is one universally sacred fact; no one can deny your right to be born. The birth of a child infiltrates the emotions of awe and wonder in everyone. Who will deny their own compassionate spirit, when in the presence of a newborn? Who in their right mind can perceive to judge, or consider any expectation upon the innocence of this benefactor of life? We embrace this miracle of life without question. We are mystified by the magnitude of such manifestation, but soon… it will not be long before the innocence is forgotten and the judgment begins. Whether someone believes they are born into this world with a predestined purpose, or just considers birth to be the undetermined circumstance of procreation, it seems a paradox, this gift of life?

We are told we can be whoever we wish to be, and then sent to schools and given guidelines that we must follow. We are encouraged to pursue what is in our hearts, but then tested to see if we qualify for our right to journey. We are told we are free, but then encapsulated by debt. We are given the choice to believe as we want, and then riddled with opinion. We are taught the essence of equality, and then judged by competing demands. We are expected to adapt to the rules without ever questioning the authority and structure. Our emotions are subdued, and our feelings appear insignificant in the face of the popular majority.

It is time to return the gift to its rightful owner. Your life is not a paradox

    Introduction

We arrived in this world naked and seemingly unaware of our surroundings. It appears we had virtually no choice in the environment or conditions we were born into. As we grow up from the only environment and conditions that we come to know, it is no wonder that our beliefs and attitudes are directly influenced by the environment we grew up in. Say, if we were raised by a pack of wolves and knew no other way of life. Can you understand in such a scenario, how hard it would be to adjust to our present society? Then it should not be hard to understand that there are unlimited perceptions of life that are possible. It is also easy to be conditioned to believe that all of the knowledge we gain throughout life merely comes to us by means of what we are exposed to and our surrounding environment. Now, what would it mean to learn of an unlimited source of knowledge you could freely tap into? Better still, what if this gifted knowledge was already present within you? There is a deeper perception of thought in everyone, and this book is intended to explain this as our spiritual perception.

How does one describe or define Spirituality? I would suggest that you look up the definition. You will find there is no consensus verifying its definition. Lack of consensus does not minimize the timeless and persistent search to discover a spiritual definition and perception. Even without definitive meaning, spirituality has always been acknowledged as the primary influence in the development and transformation for the greater good of an individual soul. Some will define spirituality as the secret to life, while others are convinced it is simply a way of life. Whatever its meaning encompasses, I am convinced (and intend to illustrate) that We Are All Spiritual. In this book I will try to simply illustrate how spirituality can be accepted and found within our very own nature. There are many definitions of what we know, but written words can hardly suffice for any one individual’s perception, so this
