About this ebook
Dr Ara Noble was on a mission: to reverse the devastation created by scientists that caused the birth of the third gender. Saving humanity was one thing, but it was time for someone to do something about the high suicide rate amongst the fe/males of human population.
This was not just a selfless act to help humanity; Ara had an ulterior motive. Born fe/male, the geneticist had fallen in love, but had done so at an age where the transformation was no longer possible. Or was it? Ara was determined to find out, and change that before it really was too late.

Chapter 1
It was now or never.
I was staring at the results of the latest test my three lab assistants had set up to run overnight. Two of the tests were inconclusive. Three were clear failures. One was a success.
The odds had been against me, and I expected that. It was hope that made me run this last batch of tests once more. Hope for something that I could create for others like me.
I sat back in my chair and contemplated the results before me.
I knew it was going to be difficult, but that was why I had started this research. A little over three hundred years ago, scientists and geneticists, like me, had played God and tampered with the human gender gene.
The human population of Earth had been devastated by wars and plagues and was rapidly declining. And they came up with a plan that resulted in the development of the third gender. A gender that could transform into either male or female, to balance the unbalance the dying population had created for itself.
People were scattered and localised populations were either female dominated in most places, or male dominated in a few others. Forcing the population to move around for the sake of procreation had not been well received.
Thus entered science and the future was screwed up for the next generations.
I reached for my sperm- and ova-decorated coffee mug. Empty. With a heavy heart, I went to find the coffee machine.
While it ground and hissed to produce the dark blend I preferred, I spotted my youngest lab assistant entering the building. Henri was as passionate about genetics as I and probably the smartest kid I had ever met.
The machine clicked when it stopped pouring the fragrant brew. Taking a moment to pour some sweetener into the black magic, I watched him go directly into the lab to check on his results.
His tests had failed, but that meant nothing in our world. It was just one more step; one more lesson learned before making an adjustment to the formula before running the test protocol again. His face fell when he realised what he was looking at. The set of his jaw, even from across the room, told me he wasn’t ready to give up.
I took a sip of my coffee and made my way back to my office. I took the short cut through the lab. There was no way to avoid the discussion that followed.
Henri gave a tremulous smile when he spotted me approach. Dr Noble.
I waved at his tablet. "I know. It happens;
