About this ebook

From Scribd: About the Book

A collection of tales about South Carolina's traditional voodoo practices, Lowcountry Voodoo shows the culture that evolved from African people stolen from their lands and enslaved in the American South. Their traditions, cultures, and religion came with them, eventually blending with the Christianity forced upon them by slave owners to create what is considered Voodoo in the United States.

These tales include stories of the Gullah and their ways, boo hag brides who shed their skin, young men whose love potions worked too well, and plenty of other important figures in Voodoo teachings. Explore the culture adapted from great hardship and learn to create meals for good luck, avoid curses, and pass down much more important teachings through generations of leaders in Voodoo communities.

Whether you're looking to connect to your roots or expand your understanding of religions in the American South, Lowcountry Voodoo is a detailed look at a diverse culture and people and the tales they tell each other.

Another great one from Terrance Zepke, and another one found in a tourist gift shop, this time in South Carolina. As the title suggests, this is a beginner's guide to Gullah magic and culture. A fascinating collection of tales that give the reader a look into the Gullah culture in South Carolina.I'll be honest, I read this one during Hurricane Dorian, which is now three months and at least 5 books ago, so my memory isn't the sharpest on this one. I'm just now getting back to it so I can review it, but have forgotten all the things I wanted to say about it after first reading it. I'll definitely need to read it again to give a better review, but I did enjoy it and will be adding it to my paranormal research shelf for further use.
