About this ebook
Hip Hop Is Dead...
But True H.I.P. H.O.P. Lives
Tired of wack rappers who lack originality and lyrical substance? Fed up with corporate-controlled Hip Hop that has exploited the art form for its own selfish gain? I know I am.
My name is Naaya, and I'm a poet and author.
A while back I asked myself this question: If I were an MC, what would I do differently. I stepped out of my poetic comfort zone ad stepped into a one-woman cypher. From my cypher, I present to you 16 Bars: H.I.P. H.O.P. Poetry.
16 Bars is a celebration of Higher Infinite Power Healing Our People (H.I.P. H.O.P.). It's a collection of 16 bar poems that capture the essence Hip Hop's artistic and spiritual genius. I'm paying homage to the finer qualities of true Hip Hop: lyrical mastery, social-political consciousness, and spiritual uplift. It's also an unflinching commentary on the current state of Hip Hop.
If you love true Hip Hop and dope poetry, you'll enjoy 16 Bars. I like all my joints (of course, lol). But, here are a few of my favorites:
- Industry Devils
- Wiggas
- Hip Hop Savior
- Pen, Paper and Microphone
- Sexy Rap Beast
- Black Man is God
Download 16 Bars: H.I.P. H.O.P Poetry now. Leave a review and share your favorite bars from the collection.
Thanks for joining my cypher.

Intro
In Hip Hop the MC is a messenger...a poet...a lyricist. And a lyricist, in essence, is a wordsmith. MCs know and appreciate the power of words, and how to use words to move the crowd.
Back in the day, lyricism was of utmost importance in Hip Hop. Metaphors. Storytelling. Clever plays on words. Uniqueness.
