About this ebook
The S generation is about to embark on its official task testing. Releasing them from childhood and welcoming them into adulthood in this coming of age story. Sandy has been waiting a long time for this moment, the moment when his rebel ways and rule breaking becomes legal, the moment when he can strip Sam’s clothes off without risking being busted and losing his fingers. This is a tale full of heat and tension and lust that doesn’t cross into erotica.
Sam is a just as rebellious girl, and when Sandy is finally strung up for taking the ultimate risk Sam is prepared to lose her life saving him. The ultimate risk is far worse than she ever imagined. Plummeting from the tree tops where they live should have ended both their lives, but Sandy’s eyes turned blue and the hero inside was released.
In this Avatar mashup blue eyes means you can fly, and being a hero means you must die.

Now.
I came of age in a time when there are no heroes. My father was the last of them, but the sickness took him, like it took all the others. What we have in Terrasky is a lot of rules, and if you want to break them – say to be with a pretty girl like Sam – well, there’s consequences.
Terrasky is made up of mud brick buildings precariously balancing between six trees. My home is one of exactly a hundred in district A. The only way up or down is by the branches that taper naturally into spikes at this height. From my mud-rendered window I can see Sam, my neighbor, slipping over the edge of her deck and nimbly beginning the climb down.
I’m going hunting,
I whisper into Ma’s ear.
Be a good lad and get some yoyo berries.
I nod, thinking, great. They’re not fun to collect, but I don’t argue. In fact, if I open my mouth again I’m likely to blurt out the fact that the tan line on Sam’s ass is almost a straight line where her shorts end, or that she always, I mean always, wears a blue bra. Or something else stupid and inappropriate for my mother to hear.
I grab my crossbow and step over the knee high threshold out onto our deck. The ground is way down there somewhere, beyond the mist, beyond where the tree leaves start and then stop.
Slinging my crossbow over my back, I grip the spike and lift myself off the deck. In a combination of slipping and gripping I disappear into the fog. There’s no option about going down slowly, if I get caught I’m a walking punishment. The smell of the atmosphere hits me and I breathe it in deeply. Pine and sap, scents heavy with the temptation of leaves, and the feeling of humidity.
Slipping out of the fog into a green
