Keeping one step ahead of Regar is very good for the health. Unfortunately, the SOB knew he'd jumped on this freighter. Time for another Plan B. Jaxton ran down the corridor leading to the emergency pods.
The damn things didn't have much of a range but he didn't have any choice now. If only he'd been able to reach his own ship before Regar's men began the chase. That baby could move.
He pressed the entry code and the hatch popped open. Regar would waste hours tearing the freighter apart when it docked. But he'd be long gone. With any luck, he'd lose him long enough to circle back for his own ship.
He touched his back as he settled in the pod. He needed to patch himself up soon. Really it was insulting - did Regar think he could be taken out by just one of his goons? This is what happens when the guy at the top doesn't have any brains.
He hit the command sequence to release the pod and aimed it for a nearby satellite. That should give him enough cover, while he pulled up the navigation comp. He had to find somewhere he could hide fast. Somewhere that this little rust bucket could reach. An
