About this ebook

Crash has never let the circumstances of his birth, or his lack of a last name, bother him. His associations may be unsavory, but money, friends, and infamy open far more interesting doors than respect ever could. His sole regret? Once lovely, sweet Daisy Whitlaw learned the truth about how he made his fortune, she cut him off.

Daisy’s father is dead, her mother is in ill health, and her available funds have dwindled to a memory. When the local parish announces a charity bequest to help young people start a trade, it’s her last chance. So what if the grants are intended for men? If she’s good enough, she might bluff her way into a future.

When Crash offers to show her how to swagger with confidence, she knows he is up to no good. But with her life in the balance, she’s desperate enough to risk the one thing she hasn’t yet lost: her heart.

Her Every Wish is a companion novella in the Worth Saga. It stands on its own, but those who wish to read in order might want to read the first book in the series, Once Upon a Marquess, before this one.

I love Courtney Milan!!!! I adore every single character she has ever written, and Crash and Daisy are no exceptions. However, I think Daisy was hurt far worse by Crash than vice versa and should not have been the one to prostrate herself. She absolutely needed to own and apologize for her unconscious well-meaning-white-girl racism, but Crash was far more vicious and cruel and frankly, I think he should have had to work a bit harder to regain her trust. Heartwarming!Daisy Whitlaw knows that to support herself and her mother she must do more than be a flower shop girl. She has a vision. A vision hampered by lack of funds and crowded out by the prejudices of her community. When she enters a competition to gain funds to start a trade she runs smack bang into those prejudices. Trade is for men! With the help of her once friend and once beloved, Crash, a young man who has been brought up to stand tall and not let his circumstances of birth hamper his dreams, Daisy learns to see her worth and to fight for what she wants.Of course she and Crash do have some problems to confront and the path of true love is not at all guaranteed. But with a more focused attitude Daisy is learning to stand up for herself, and even more importantly to look at how her own attitudes might need to change.A very different and touching story.A NetGalley ARC

This is a novella, and almost necessarily a rather simple story, but it is elegantly done. The conflict between Crash and Daisy is resolved naturally, as spending time with each other again leads them each to understand how the other heard what they'd said back when things went wrong. Supporting characters don't get as much space as they would in a full novel, of course, but Crash and Daisy's family members are all a joy for as much as we do see them. And of course, since it's a Courtney Milan story, the dialogue is terribly entertaining and the plot uplifting and feminist in a completely believable 19th century kind of way.

A wonderful story of a woman and man with dreams upon thier future. Restored love between them each to pursue the businesses of living. Told to each one that they could not succeed because of living in povetry. This story just shows you how life can be over come to realize ft that dreams do come true
