About this ebook

This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Identity are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore five topics, from different verses in the books of Ephesians, Colossians, and 1Thessalonians. They are: The church as the body of Christ; Death by proxy; God’s choice of you; Called into God’s kingdom and glory; and Not destined for wrath.
Excerpts:
The church as the body of Christ
“As the body of Christ we should express the manifold dimensions of the destiny that is on him when he read from the book of Isaiah at the beginning of his ministry, that the Spirit of the Lord is upon him, because he is anointed to preach the gospel, heal the blind, heal the broken-hearted etc., as his body (Luke 4:15-21).”

Death by proxy
“You died by proxy, you also live by proxy, Christ is alive in you, since the text says you are dead, therefore having no life of your own to live. That is your new reality you must embrace.”

God’s choice of you
“But there is the glory of God in the face of Jesus and by being in constant fellowship with him, we contact his glory and taste his power (2Corinthians 4:6, 3:16-18). We are meant to be partakers of his divine nature, and that has a glorious quality to it.”
Called into God’s kingdom and glory
“Jesus was marked by glory, as the one who represented the kingdom of God on the earth. And two things were the expression of that glory: grace (divine ability) and truth (divine understanding). Our life should be so marked, as those called into the kingdom and glory of God.”
Not destined for wrath
“After asking how he would be saved, they explained to him the divine truth and he became part of the body of Christ. As part of the body of Christ, he can no longer be an object of wrath, since they are now the object of the love that God has for Christ.”
