About this ebook
It's Alice Mongoose's first Christmas in Hawaii. She misses her family and is resigned to spending the holiday alone.
Alistair Rat would love to spend Christmas with his best friend Alice, but he's afraid that Alice has more exciting things to do than spend time with a solitary rat.
Fortunately, the outspoken Cordelia Canetoad knows just what to do!
The Alice Mongoose and Alistair Rat stories are classic tales of friendship, beloved to this day by children of all ages.

Reviews for Alice Mongoose and Alistair Rat's Hawaiian Christmas

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Alice and Alistair run a lunch room. Alice works days as she is a mongoose who is awake during the day while Alistair works the night shift as he is a rat and nocturnal. They serve their neighbors good food. Christmas is coming and Alice will have her first Christmas without her family while Alistair's family lives too far. Both think the other will be having big Christmas parties with their families when in reality they will both be alone. Cordelia Canetoad decides to interfere and gets them talking about their Christmases. Will they share it or will they be too embarrassed to ask the other?I enjoyed this story. I liked that it was set in Hawaii and was about cultures rarely seen in literature. I liked Alice and Alistair but both need a lesson in communicating with each other beyond the superficial. I liked that Cordelia interfered. She got them talking as well and she also talked with the rest of the neighborhood.I also liked that when Alice was asked how her family in India celebrated Christmas she took into account who she was speaking with and censored her reply so as not to offend/hurt Helen and Trevor and their chicks. This was a nice book that shows manners and taking care of others without harming anyone else in the process. A good book for 4-8 year olds.
