About this ebook

Tabby wanted to start her career without the help of her music producer father. She enjoyed the music created in Nashville, so that’s where her dreams took her. On her own, she got a job with a prestigious producing firm and was settling into her new life.

Rick owns the bar down the street from her office, and when she waltzes in with her coworkers for happy hour, sparks fly between the two of them.

After her friends leave, the two of them have coffee together, and the spark becomes a flame.

But Rick’s past and his present could get in the way of their budding romance. As the son of the leader of the Gaskets, there are certain expectations he must live up to. And it could ruin any chance he has with Tabby.

Sarah Smith

Making a career goal come true, Sarah has completed her first children's book. The book started out as a short story requirement in an assignment while completing a course at the Institute of Children's Literature. After completing the course, I concentrated on my career in the corporate world. Not feeling fully satisfied with the corporate world and needing the funds to survive, I continued in the corporate world until my retirement in 2012. Always knowing that I wanted to complete my book, I started down the road to accomplish the goal. The dream has finally surfaced again and I'm on my way. Thanks to the help of Smashwords, I have found a way to publish my book on the internet which I've always believe was the best way to get your book to as many readers as possible.

    Chapter One

Tabby Taylor Newman walked into her new office in her favorite dove grey pantsuit and black heels, her stomach nauseated with nerves caused by excited anticipation. She had landed her dream job at last: she had been hired by one of the most prestigious music marketing companies in the country. And on her own merit. No one in Nashville knew who her father was, that he was the CEO of a television station in LA. Her father had agreed to stay out of it, and to be sure no one found out who she was, she had used her mother’s maiden name, her own middle name, rather than using Newman when she’d sent in her resume.

And she’d been hired! The first person she had called was her father. She wanted to make her own way in life, sure, but he was still her biggest supporter.

Baby girl, I am so proud of you! When’s your first day? he’d exclaimed.

Monday. Three days! And thank goodness. I need to do a little shopping on this lovely Friday morning, Tabby had gushed, so happy he could hear the smile on her face. And I’ve met some of the people I’ll be working with already. They seem great!

This is what you were meant to do, Tabby, her father had answered proudly. You’ll love it. But if you need anything, you know to call me.

Tabby rolled her eyes. I know, Dad. But my salary is looking pretty nice, if you know what I mean.

Her father laughed loudly in his deep voice. I’m glad for you. I do have to admit I’m surprised you chose Nashville, of all places.
